I was told there would be no way my car would start after my build. 05 c6. Was completely stock then I tore it down , put a 408 stroker - big blower cam, f1r procharger, 1000cc injectors , triple 255 walbro pumps, ls7 maf, etc. And many people was positive it wouldn't start with the big injectors and bigger cam.
Well not only did it fire right up It idles and revs up as if it's stock.
Am I just lucky or was I being lead to believe nonsense ?
Are you saying it started and idles well with no changes to the previous tune? That is odd for sure but I definitely wouldn't drive it without logging and adjusting, no matter how well it seems to run.
Yes it idles and everything just fine without any tune at all. And I haven't driven it and won't until I do get a tune. Just thought it was crazy how well it ran without a tune. I did talk to a tuner a few min ago and he said it probably would start and run sense I'm running my stock throttle body and intake .
Do you not have a wideband in the car? Washing the rings down is dumping so much gas in there that it screws up the ring seal. Meaning you get to tear down your engine to hone it and put in new rings.
Explain exactly what washing down my rings mean?
And it actually didn't even smell all that rich, even with open headers.
Basically the extra fuel that is not being burnt is "de-oiling" the cylinder walls so there is no lubrication between the rings and cylinder walls. Dry cylinder walls will cause scaring which will lead to ring failure which means you have to pull the motor back out and rebuild it again.
Do as they say! Same thing happened to a friend of mine with 80lb injectors! He started it and drove it to the tuner, needless to say, he didn't make it there.
