I'm going to an event - ECS/Slipstream roll racing at Pocono - that I will want to record. I've read about go pro, replay and others but don't know which to use. Suggestions?
Just pic up a go pro that pretty much what everyone uses... The Go pro (any model) and car suction cup should do the trick... I also have a flip video camera too... Solid camera but no way to mount it, what work is your car getting done @ ECS btw?
Go Pro is the standard affair for a reason. Good pricing, good hardware, lots of accessories to make it fit whatever reason you need to use it. I'd say just snag the Go Pro.

I sold my go pro's and switched to the Replay. Does all the same stuff but is much smaller. Looks more like a lip stick container then the big box, so it's easier to mount IMo.

Doug what do you race that you need a camera :P How's Chris' white convertible m6 doin?!
I attach mine to the rear window to film the poor soul falling behind. It's held on up to 170mph and vibrations from limited traction through 1st gear. Talk about a genius invention!

No new work is being performed - it is nothing more than the annual fluids change and just going through the car to make sure it is 100% for the event.
There is nothing more for me to do to the car until I either a) grenade this motor (which I really really really hope doesn't happen) or b) I decide to pull the trigger on a full blown built motor at which time I will probably sell my blower kit and chase HUGE horsepower. For now, having just enough fun with a LS2 that makes 760+ hpr in 95+ degree heat with NJ summer humidity......
I would stick with GoPro, but I also have a Sony Action Cam. The Sony is a little more compact so wearing it on a helmet or on your chest is a little more comfortable. They have almost any type of accessory/mount you can think of for it and it does take nice video/sound. Also has wifi so you can start/stop/watch what you are recording from your smartphone, just like the GoPros. I think the basic one starts at $199 so a little cheaper than the GoPro. IMO my GoPro takes better video, but the Sony records better sound.

Can you post some videos? I know Go Pro has some phenominal video posted all over, but damn that FUGLY design. Go Pro is a NO-GO with me.
