Default Lets discuss LS7 titanium rods again

Between here and LS1tech there is a handful of threads concerning the strengths and weaknesses of the factory LS7 connecting rods. Seems like most information about them is assumptions and very few have real expierences with them in FI builds. From what I can see, these Ti rods are hundreds of grams lighter than most forged steel rods. The idea of less rotating mass in the engine and being able to ramp up the RPMs quicker would of course be a huge plus. Discuss.

I had the same thoughts as you.

I had my machine shop check them out.

They didn't like the small bolts the ls7 rods use.

Said it's similar in size to a stock sbf rod? If I remember right.

They said they see a lot of issues with titanium and having the small end bushing getting spit out, also problems with gauling as the rods rub against eachother.

They do a lot of high end race stuff and are very familiar with the use of titanium parts..

After a discussion with them I just decided to use your typical forged rod.
