But my only question is, what the hell is up with that case it comes in?? They should include a chain and cuff with it as well, LOL.

That is great to hear. I will have it installed in about 2 weeks.

Its going to be torture behaving for the break in miles.

Yep, what were you told on the break in? I was told no high rpm gear grabbing for 500 miles.

Good to hear! The case is a nice added bonus too, I use it for my tuning stuff when travelling, a lot of people make them into gun cases etc.

What I've seen from Mantic is 300-500 miles of typical city driving for a proper break in.

I want to start calling myself the gravedigger because I keep digging up these old threads.

I'm installing one right now in my C6 and we just installed my friends in his c5 last night.
On the c5 we measured the depth of the slave and shimmed. Shooting for 0.100 off the bottom.

Do we need to measure the depth and shim on my c6z as well? I haven't seen any were of them doing this?

I've never seen anyone install them on any Mantic 9000 install except for one guy.. Doug warned him not to, he did it anyways.. he had to take it back apart and remove the shim. As far as I know ECS just straight up installs them without any issues. I could be wrong, but I really don't think you need to shim it at all.

So, my vote is no shims.

I remember that thread, we just install them here no shim, always a great pedal height.

Thank you both. That is what I will do.
Any reason to upgrade the plastic tip on the slave with the quarter master unit?

No shims on mine, thing is still awesome.

One clarification though as I started this thread, I incorrectly called it chatter, but its actually a shudder. It's only when pulling out, doesn't happen when the car is cold, and it doesn't happen all the time. I just have to slip it a little more when taking off. Not sure what could cause this, it's only a minor annoyance.

Its a grippy dual disk. You need to adjust your driving slightly. You can make the car shudder, but it is beyond easy to just add some throttle or change your release speed.
