Default TX Mile report??

Surely there was a CF member or two there. Weather looked to be near perfect.

The Texas Mile was a blast. My wife told me before the event that I'd have to sell my car if I broke 200 mph so I did some of the best top-end bracket racing of my life. I ran 199.8mph, not once, but twice, LOL. For what it's worth, the 1/2 mile mph was a little more indicative of our power with 169.7mph trap speeds. Had I run it out completely, the car would have been closer to 201-202mph. Since I don't have a roll bar or the required safety equipment, I didn't want to get booted from the 3 days of racing for going over 200mph either. To me going 201 then blipping the throttle for a 199.8mph finish is just as exciting and I still got to continue making rounds. Kept the wife happy and kept the Texas Mile race director happy too.

Jim Cosco with his gorgeous 1027rwhp ZR1 ran 201.4mph in the mile and 169.1mph in the 1/2 mile.

Mark Barton was running around 197-198 in his heads/cam/n2O C6 Z06.

Bobby Weige was running around 195-196mph in his all-motor C6 Z06.

Surprisingly, many of the big hitter Vettes stayed home this time and it was a lot of daily driven Vettes running in the 170-190mph range. Kelly Bise was supposed to be there attempting to break the Vette record in his twin turbo C6, but I did not hear if he ran or not. I can only report on what I saw. Perhaps others will chime in.

Lots of fast CTS-Vs there but the most impressive was the 2010 Camaro convertible going over 225mph. WOW!

TT Camaro I helped with broke over 200. Trying to get a report form him. I think he had reduced power mode issues or something. Car made 1442rwhp so had the power to clear 200+ with ease. The white TT ZL1.

I know a few of the CTSVs did 200+ with the ADM one doing 206mph.

Thanks guys. This is definitely on my bucket list. Problem is, I farm for a living and the March running is planting time and the October date is harvest. I know...need to get my priorities in order

My Vette is apart now, Need to get with Pat G and design a new camshaft. Time to remove heads and get some flow numbers. I have already run 215mph, So not sure I want to go any faster. Still would of be fun to run over 200 again. I ran a stock ZR1 at 174.8mph on Sunday.
Pat's Vette and that orange turbo Camaro ran really good for the mods.
