I'm wanting to go for more power, I already have a built LS3 built for 900hp-1000hp but want a six bolt block. I already have a friend that wants to buy my motor from me and I found a great deal for my local dealer on the motor. How much hp do you think it would handle? I'd be using a stock ported LS3 intake manifold and upgrading to a YSI next month.
Has anyone used this motor or seen any make big power 1000+. Thanks

it depends on the internals since not all builds are the same...
with out knowing whats inside it there is no way to really make a statement.
I think I'm going to save up and have LME build me a motor to exceed my goals that I have now.
the rule is "never buy for what you think you want".. you always build for 50% more power that way when you realize 800 rwhp isnt as fast as you thought and crank it up your motor is still good.

How much more power are you looking to make approximately?
I doubt the 376 LSX crate engine has the correct rotating assembly to support over 1000hp, however I don't know what's equipped with so I could be wrong.
It doesn't. The rods aren't that great and pistons are not that good. That being said, I've seen 1000rwhp on a TT camaro that has been living a long happy life there. You can build a better motor for less money though, so no point in considering it IMO.

Agreed. It is a decent motor but you can do better with a good builder, especially if your build will be more at home with higher compression.
These motors are for the person with an old car doing a swap, or building a hot rod from scratch. Someone starting with nothing that just wants to drop something in. If you already have an LS powered car, I would never consider them.
