Think I'll just do some regular ol LS7 lifters. Seems like that's pretty much a standard GM lifter at this point

It was cold when I did that test earlier, if it's dry tomorrow I'm going to do a little messing around driving it and seeing what happens

CNC heads eh? Have you been able to try that new tensioner out yet?
the GM racing lifters p/n 88958689 are actually designed to turn 8,000rpm to be used with aggressive camshaft designs and run in Corvette 24 hour endurance racing.some call them a Cadillac lifter.lots seem to have issues with low oil pressure using the Johnson lifter that is a smaller diameter than the GM lifters.I would never run a lifter that reduces my oil pressure

The Johnsons with axle oiling do lower oil pressure for the oil squiter, but the normal ones, just fine.

Wasn't there a guy on one of these forums complaining about lower oil pressure from Johnsons? Did we ever establish that he was running the pin oiler version? And what's with this about the Johnsons being smaller diameter?? IDK about you guys, but I don't like the thought of having a smaller diameter Johnson...

There was a guy complaining about that, but that was a one off thing, no idea which model, and I think he did a bunch of other stuff. Either way I know plenty of people running them with no issues, and its was BTR recommends for a lot of setups. Joe@CPR runs the Johnson in his 1170rwhp c5. They were recommended over the morels/etc. Then again he has suffered from little johnson syndrome for awhile so maybe he is just use to it.

Well, parts are ordered. BTR's website says they'll be here on Friday

ARP Studs
2 x LS9 head gasket
16 x "Chevy Performance LS7" lifters
4 x Lifter trays
4 x Lifter bolts

And that's about it. Should be fine to re-use intake gaskets and valve cover gaskets, and I'm hoping to finally switch over to the valve covers that Sammy sent me

Going to start on it whenever it stops raining

I seriously thought about doing that for a few of them

How have yours worked out? My uncle had his whole mouth done in implants and loves them
