I have owned by C6, 6 speed manual, since new. 7.5 year of fun and enjoyment. No rain, 22000 miles, looks showroom new. Black on black, murdered out.

The mods are as follows:

ECS 1500
ECS blower cam
ECS Stage 1 Fuel System
ECS Meth
Kooks 1 3/4 Headers and mid pipe
Z06 mufflers with mild to wild
SD tune
ECS trans brace
4.10 gears
500m shafts
Mantic twin
MGW shifter
Full carbon fiber exterior pieces (splitter, zr1 rear wing, diffuser, zr1 style side pieces)
Spinmonster modded wheels, Toyo R888s
Separate set of drag radial and another set of modded wheels
Other stuff too numerous to mention

Car makes 760 whpr. At Slipstream Racing Events, car has gone 60-163 in 8.9xx seconds in 1600 feet. It's got some speed to it. It is an absolute blast to drive but I want more/different. I have options and budget is not a terribly huge concern. That said, I do not want to spend money foolishly (or any more foolishly than I have thus far).

Do I sell the C6, buy a new Z06, and do some "mild" mods? If so, what the hell is my car worth?
Do I keep the C6 (not buy a new Z06), build a full tilt motor and shoot for 1000+ whpr?
Do I build my car and buy a new Z06 but leave it stock?
Do I get away from two seaters altogether and buy something totally different? (Porsche 911 Turbo S, MB AMG S 63 coupe, something else with speed, back seats and preferably AWD (BTW, Wife hates the GTR)(we have one child, age 11).

I like speed but would love to have a fast, nice weather toy with back seats for family use. I'm at an impasse and would love someone else's insight.

CTS-V! I really like those cars and think that they are very impressive. That's probably the change I'll make if or when I get tired of the vette. Love the GTRs but parts and labor are insanely expensive. Just my thoughts.

Personally, going from superfast down to fast and not having superfast anymore would suck.

You know the saying: Faster, faster until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death

My plan, if they turn out as good as I think, sell vette and buy a new mustang.

Only you can answer what you want out of a car. If you really need something faster, then just add a bit more power to what you have, but I wouldn't go over 850rwhp in a c6 platform.

I'm kinda concerned that the new Z06 won't be too mod friendly. Unless you want to swap out the blower. 1.7L TVS blower isn't going to have too high of a ceiling. Then you're going to be out more than a small pile of $'s.

Have you seen the new SS Chevy? Four doors, nice brakes, handling package, and an LS3 under the hood. Only A6 tranny for 2014, but the 2015's are available with an M6 tranny. I test drove one over the weekend. Besides being painfully slow (that can be easily fixed), I was pretty impressed. Looks good, lots of room in the back seat, nice bucket seats, huge trunk. The wife is ready for a new car. If we end up getting one, I just need to send her away on a long weekend so I can get the blower on it.

Isn't the new CTS-V now a twin turbo V-6?

That's the ATS-V you're thinking about.

OP I'd leave the car as is and buy something like a ATS-V. No reason to have two corvettes.

So turn the C6 up 100 hpr and buy a MB S63 AMG coupe it is........

Why not over 850 hpr? This is not a daily driver.

Just expontially more issues, drive train issues, tires won't hook. From my experience on the street, 750 or 1000 is about the same speed, but 750 is a lot less work/maintenance. If you want to do a glide/4l80/etc then go for bigger power, but you can only put so much down on a drag radial on an unprepped surface.

5.2L

I got a 5.0 now, and already like that a lot more than my vette, so the bigger higher revving motor is ever more appealing.

I came from a Saleen mustang in which I had every mod imaginable... So I hear where your coming from with the love of them but how can you like the 5.0 more exactly?

Just a better all around car. Quieter, rides nicer, more usable, more comfy, better stereo, better seats, awesome auto, hooks up well (solid axle FTW), easy to work on, cheap to mod, and the list goes on and on. If I could go back i would have done a nice motor/FI on the mustang and kept the vette a ~500hp daily beater.

I do agree w/ the 850 plus but...

I've never heard that the Stang was a better car. When you do get the 5.2L you do need to post some revving vids. I'd love to hear it! The flat plane crank is going to make it the most unique American V8 out.

I doubt I'll actually get one.

Different strokes for different fokes. If it was a track only car, vette is a quicker/better handling car for turns/etc. For straight line, the chassis, solid axle, auto of the mustang make a better straight line car. For daily driving the reasons I said above make me like the mustang more. That was just a small list. I could go on and on. I like that it isn't low, I like that I don't have to worry about recalls, I don't have to deal with GM dealers, I don't have to deal with vette owners (worst part about owning a vette, followed closely by dealing with GM).

I gotcha. Be careful though, Stang owners can "bro" you to death. And *** whip you with how fast their car is. Maybe that's just my part of the country.

I see that for daily livable, but quality of the interior is junk IMO, and the seating position never has allowed me to be comfortable in a stang. I'm not saying at all that the quality of the C6 interior is stellar by any means, kist better IMO. This holds true for most ford produce to me though. My current expedition, and my F150 (2012 Ecoboost) before that never have been as comfortable as my Chevrolet equivalents.
