I have read several posts that say every year or two you need to rebuild the Meth pump is this the case if so why doesn't it last longer? Is this for all Meth pump manufactures?
Also, pumps are cheap. $120 or so. I just ordered a spare, and just plan to replace it yearly. Basically just cheap service. Then you can send your original pump back for a free inspection.

There are a lot of factors as to time. Its like an oil change..How long do you wait to change it? Based on WOT time? Miles? Calendar? Color?.. point is if you have to think about it, it should have been done. My car for example, 2 minutes of WOT.. oil gets dropped. Its chump change in the grand scheme of things.
Best analogy I can use is salt water and a boat. Keep the boat in salt water, it will get issues sooner than latter. Methanol is a chemical, the rubber in the pump from sitting in it will simply harden a little at a time over a period of time. Once it hardens past a certain point, it shrinks while hardening.. then you have less pressure from the pump.. and eventually a leak.
If the car is setup where it needs the meth kit to live and survive.. whats 80 for a rebuild every few years? Like changing Diff fluid, trans fluid, brake fluid.. etc.. its just maintenance.
If you ran pressure monitoring.. transducer wired through HP or data logger.. and you know what a good pump puts out.. lets say 120 psi at 12 psi boost.. if 2 years from now your at 120 psi at 12 psi boost.. I wouldn't touch the pump. How bout if your at 100 psi at 12 psi boost or 80 psi.. if your guessing.. best is to simply renew. There is nothing better than new.. especially when it comes to fuel system components.
