As I get closer to the end of this build phase with my car(tt C5) and onebadcads(f1x C6), I think I need some motivation to help get my a$$ in gear and finish the project(s). I was looking for that motivation living through you dudes that have tracked your C6 Z06(or cars with C6 Z06's diffs-C5 or C6). Primarily the single digit ones. We both run a late 2012(2012.5) C6 Z06 differentials and TR6060s. They both have stock C6 diffs. Just curious how hard you guys are launching these, at what power level, and what is the et you have been able to consistently hit without breaking. Traditionally I would walk the weak diff'd cars out of the gate but, I think if we're gonna try and legitimately hit 8's, I think we'll need a harder launch to get it out quick.
I had stock C6 ZR1 trans and diff in my TT C6 car it went multiple 1.3/low1.4 60's and ran consistent low 6.1's @118 mph in the 1/8. Made 748/795 to the wheels with UPP TT kit. I used bias ply et streets and never experienced wheel hop cause I knew that would be the breaking point LOL

Base C6 differential, no brace or anything touched on the rear/tranny on my old C6. Fbody wheels out back with 295/45-17's, stock wheels up front. 800hp, 1.45-1.55 60fts, mid-upper 9's,

Maybe BlownBlue (Brett) can chime in on this, he seems to know these pretty well.
Word.
Whats the quickest stock driveline Z06 i guess should be the better question maybe?
Stock Z06 diffs do not have hardened shafts...(I don't think).. I see people popping shafts on them at the track all the time.. they will definitely break shafts.
I believe the ZR1s may be better but... I doubt they have anything other then 300m shafts...If that.
DSS is the only ones that make the "500m" shafts... And even they are not a true "500m" heat treated metal.
IF you drag race it, its gonna break..I'll guarantee that... You get any kind of wheel hop, its done.. You have to be VERY smooth on slipping the clutch. Sometimes they still break.
Glad to see you building one to go on the strip though...

maybe it's just my driving style or because I don't launch like I'm angry or something but I've had a number of cars with theoretically weak drive lines from nitrous honda to mustangs to 10 bolt rear ends on F body's and I've never broken serious driveline stuff even with 500 wheel torque on totally stock 2001 camaro driveline.
I don't know how often you plan to drag race it but I'd be surprised if someone out here hasn't snuck into high 8s on stock rear end. I bet if they do that more than a few times something is going to let go but if you're just trying to hit the track occasionally I bet you'll be fine if you slip the clutch a little and avoid wheel hop even if you launch it hard and I bet some big sidewall slicks will be key.
your car has insane power/torque under the curve so I'd guess could hit 8s with a 1.5-1.60 60ft?

I'm pretty decent with getting a car to work with fragile diffs or lack of traction. I never broke anything at the track(1ST MOTOR ONLY),mostly on the streets. I don't see why it couldn't 1.5 60 with a tire and decent launch/slip. I dunno if it'll get me 8s. I am HOPING it does but,...without knowing, only guessing. All the bushings/coilovers are all good so, I should have little movement in the driveline on launch. I know I have seen guys go 9's on stock C6 diffs(09 and up)..which makes me happy. I was just hoping the Z06 units are stronger.
I don't plan on racing it every weekend but,...truthfully, I would like to lol. Track or whatever. That's why I built this beotch It's been too many years of downtime for this ride.
