Good day All

a Friend has a ZO6 with the 2.9 Whipple, and is having constant belt issues, with belt slippage and sometimes the pulley idler

every other month he changes the belt

any recommendations in what to do, the car is on the stock pulley that cam with the supercharger

10-12 Rib belt conversion for starters. Laser align all pulleys using the crank pulley as the reference point. Try some different belts. The Gates Green Kevlar belts seem to be the strongest but Bando seems to make the most sticky. I have NEVER had good luck with top mount blowers. Always seem to have one problem or another when you start to lean on them.

The new gates blue belts are badass too if you can find them in your size.

Even a stock belt should do fine with the stock blower pulley. Probably very mild boost which should equate to fairly light belt load. Something is either not aligned or the belt is too big. Just because it's tight sitting there doesn't mean it will remain tight under load. Belts stretch under load. The stock types stretch a lot. Once they stretch past the tensioner's travel arc, the belt is too loose to do its job.

Add Gatorback belts to the premium belts mentioned in the posts above. I couldn't find a Gates green or blue belt to fit my rig. Maybe more sizes available now. Gatorbacks seem to be available in more sizes. Here's the link to what's available. http://www.veyance.com/ProductsDetail.aspx?id=3128 They're still available under the Goodyear Gatorback name from Summit and Amazon.
