So I'm getting everything together for my nitrous system and I'm trying to figure out if I can tap off of my fuel rails or not. I have an aftermarket setup and I'm running a boost referenced regulator. I'm wondering if that will screw up the jetting as the boost and fuel pressure goes up. Can I run it this way and hold correct pressure with a nitrous controller or should I go with a standalone fuel system?
You will want the fuel pressure on your nitrous system to go up 1:1 with boost pressure. assuming your nozzle is in the pressurized (boosted) side of the intake.
So if it is turbo'd and the nozzle is in the intake tubing right before the throttle body then you would want the fuel pressure on the nitrous system to go up 1:1 with boost pressure.
But if you have a supercharger (magnacharger, whipple, etc) and your nozzle is in the intake tube before the supercharger then you would not want to boost reference the fuel pressure on the nitrous system.
