Default Bottle Mount?

I have 10lb bottles that I run for my nitrous. I run one bottle at a time in the car. How are you guys securing the bottle bracket to the floor of the car? My bottle is currently in the trunk but doesn't feel very secure. What are you guys doing to secure your brackets down to the trunk floor?

Any pictures?

I copied what another member did. Pulled the carpet up, laid down a 5/8 thick piece of plywood, marked the holes for the mount and epoxied it to the fiberglass. Small cuts in the carpet and it fits just fine and you can't really tell there's any holes in the carpet.

Do you have any pictures of this? Did you put studs thru bottom the plywood then use the nut from up top?

Ok. I think I can picture what you are talking about. Do you remember the dimensions of the piece of wood you used? If anyone has any pictures that would be helpful as well!

I'll try to get some later tonight. It's just a 5/8" 2x2 piece of plywood. Measured my bracket on the plywood, mark your holes, drill holes, put under carpet. The whole trunk carpet comes out super easy.

I did the same, cut a board out to size, used Tnuts underneath to bolt to, epoxied it to the floor and then took the insulation from under the carpet out to match the size of the board. Its rock solid. Here are some pics:

^^^ that's badass. Whatever you do just don't drill through the pan, the Gas tank is a couple of MM underneath.

Off Topic: How do you like that NANO setup? I've heard mixed reviews. been having issues with my bottle heater lately.

That's beautiful! I am thinking about getting a piece of harder, thicker plastic and epoxy it to the trunk, screw bolts into that and call it a day.

Thanks, I saw the one Nitrous Outlet sells made of aluminum and considered making it out of aluminum but the mdf was laying around and its plenty strong.

Havent finished my nitrous install yet so I cant comment on the Nano but from the reviews I decided to go with it. I heard filling the bottles is a pain if you cant find a place but I have a dive shop 5 min from me so it shouldnt be an issue.

Looks very clean. On mine I used a small 2'x2' piece and left it at that. Same concept with the t nuts though.

Yes... I found that out the hard way. Ask me how I know, lol

I was actually installing an amp on the "water fall" area behind the passenger side seat. First screw went right through the tank. Oopsss!

I went to Lowes, bought a piece of 24x24 piece of wood, epoxied it to the trunk floor, and screwed my brackets right into that, works great and cost me maybe $12.

Hmm All look like good ways to securely mount bottles to these cars. I went a different way I took Aluminum bar stock, about 2' long x 1/8" thick riveted it from under the car to the fiberglass and just ran the bolts up through the floor and into the billet bottle bracket worked great also.

We have a specific bottle Bracket Mounting Plate for the C6. It's an extremely clean setup, and is pre-drilled for a multitude of different bracket configurations.

This plate sells for $204.99, and we normally have one or two in stock. If you have any questions about it or want to order, let me know!

That looks like a nice piece but $205? I think that is way too much money but you've got the R&D behind the product so you can price it whatever you want... I spent $15 at Lowes and half an hour of my time and now have my bottle secured.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Some people just don't want to put a piece of wood in their Corvette and would rather have a piece specifically made for their vehicle. To each their own.

I understand that but a piece of metal with some holes for $205? Come on now...

This bracket mounting plate is not only meant to be user friendly (it already has holes pre-drilled for various brackets and mounting places), but it's also meant to keep your bottles secure in the event of an accident. Sure, we never think about it happening to us, but it does happen sometimes. This bracket mount is not only designed to be user friendly, but also offer a safe and secure bottle mounting location.
