Default Half Mile come get some!

hola everyone here,

one good thing that I feel am at home in this forum so nothing to hide and nothing to be shy about too.

many of you knows that am building a good car for a street and half mile event since am looking for half mile I was wondering which gear ratio is the best to go with for getting a high speed on that event.

some recommend the 3.15 and others said to stick with the 3.4.

so lets see what you guys have under this topic

best,
Mubarak.

My 3.42s do fine by me for all around gearing. I do 1/4 and 1/2 mile events, and drive it on a regular basis.

Way too many variables.

I shift to 5th and only trapping mid 180s. That is a 28" stock gear. Figure out your gearings, tire size, and max RPM then you can figure out.

That being said, if you have a zr1/c6z rear, only choice is 3.42. So then options are swap to a base rear or a 9" setup to open up gear ratio options.

7800 RPM!!! What is necessary to get a ZR1 to rev that high? The one thing I miss a little about my C6Z06 over my new Zr1 is 7000 redline vs 6500.

Went to crower shaft mounted rockers, longer duration cam and some beefy push Rod's/valve springs
