Default Noisy Valvetrain

Cammed LS3 with a blower just turned 6K miles. Ticking can be heard coming from the driver's side while idling. Mechanic who specializes in LS motors says they all do it and doesn't sound too bad but suggested checking the valve guides if it concerns me. Car runs great and pegs the oil pressure gauge on cold start (dry sump). Currently running 5w30 Redline. Ran 5w30 M1 previously and was doing it then too. Should I try thicker oil? Any input greatly appreciated. Thanks folks

My guess would be incorrect pushrod length

Hmmm...that's concerning. Cam, Springs and pushrods all purchased from Vengeance so I would assume they sent the correct size. How would I determine this?

Most cam kits come with the 7.400 pushrods. Unless you have done any milling or gasket thickness change the provided ones work just fine. I used the 7.400 when I installed my cam and I must acknowledge that I didn't check with a pushrod lenght checker even though I own one.

One think that helped quiet down some the ticking on mine was switching to Rotella 5w-40 T6.

I started using 0-40 M1 euro blend and it seems to have helped quieten mine down some also

Cammed Ls's are know for their noisy valve train. My cammed ls3 was noisy since the day i installed the cam. Now the motor is all stock including springs. Nice and quiet when I first got the motor now they are noisy.

This is what I'm being told. Cam and longtubes really amplify the noise.
