Default 175 cam stall sbe

didnt get a new best but did get a new best 60' and new best mph. just spun all day and the one pass i did 60' well was on a empty bottle pretty much. stock suspension and full weight other then wheels, .070 nitrous jet, 3200fti converter and kentucky speed spec cam. once i get to a good hooking track i think the car will run 9.7 or so. i had the progressive turned way down trying to hook but no go.

with a 1.61 i ended up running 10.10@ 138. need to run a taller tire as im going to 4th before the line and mine slow as hell shifting to 4th on nitrous. so i kinda have to lift for a sec to make it shift.

Nice mph! It's a 9 sec car for sure when you hook it. These runs were with a 175 shot? I forgot, what kinda times do you run on motor?

I'm getting closer to finally trying mine out, its at the shop getting the tune straightened out. My goal is 9.99 or better and 140 mph but I don't make the power you do (just a bolt on LS2 with a 2 stage setup).

yep this is a .070 jet which made 174 hp over motor. i just ran 1 pass on motor and i had my car loaded down with about 300 lbs of stuff and had my street tires on. 11.2@125 usally run about 128-129 tho and 11.0 average.

this track i just cant hook on for some reason. the other track i went to last year is much much better. i ran 10.03 at 138 there on a 150 hit. but i could leave on 90-100 . this weekend i drove 2.5 hours each way and ran 10.1 so i was happy about that. i think mine will trap more once i get some 28" tires on . it literally wont shift to 4th and with a 28 i shouldnt have to. with a 26 before i didnt have to . these tires r like 25.2 if that on my rim. im also a bit heavier now vs when i went 10.03. i had a 17 lb battery then vs 46 now , and i got the standalone fuel system and radial vs bias ply.

I was having the same problem with the 3-4 shift so gave up and used the 28" tire. Im only trapping 132 but cross at 6500 in 3rd with 2.73's

Nice! That's a high 9 sec car for sure if you can get it to hook and shift properly.
If you go to the 28" tire, that will help you hook and depending on your gearing, may help you avoid the 3-4 shift before going through the traps.
I would still try to fix that problem though.
The A6 is responsive to torque input, and adding a looser torque converter compounds the problem. When you add power (or a loose converter) you need to adjust the "shift speed" (mph) lower in the TCM tune to allow the TCM to initiate the shift early enough to complete the shift before hitting the rev limiter, which is probably what is happening on your car.
I've been having the same problem with my car as well.
After having my TCM tuned with a 3600 FTI, my car shifted fine at WOT when it was N/A. But, when I added 7.5 psi of boost, it would hit the limiter on both the 2-3 and (really violently) on the 3-4 shifts. Just yesterday, after months of trying to get my tuner to sort it out, I took my old JET DST tuning tool and loaded the TCM tune into it and when I looked at the WOT shift speed tables they were nearly as high as in a stock tune. I dropped those down by about 10% and loaded it back into the TCM it shifts MUCH better now. I'm going to tweak it some more again today and I think that will fix it.
I have 3.42s, so I had to get it fixed.
If you have access to HPT, EFI live etc., or someone with one , try that out. I'll bet that simple tweak will cure your 3-4 shift problem, unless the clutch pack is already going.

order some 28" tires today , going back to a bias ply i really liked them on the track. mine dont hit the limiter just like it hangs up . i did learn something tho . drive it around and let it get into 4th and not shutting it off helped shifted alot better. but still dont like that shift right before the line. if it can 60' on these 28's it should run a 9' pretty consistant. i struggled all day that day with the 60'
