Default Finally, done?

Got the car back yesterday, been eaining so not a chance to test drive
Final numbers were 542/496. Seems a little under, but considering it's a stock bottom and stock drivetrain, I should very happy....

It's all about putting the power to the ground with a _real_ street car that you enjoy day-to-day. You'll enjoy the new power it is making and it will put a smile on your face.

Pic of dyno sheet coming shortly, was told that its making 7psi, 15degs at max hp. Tuned used speed density told to maybe upgrade to LS7 maf or get a stand alone iat if I wanted to get rid of stock maf. Driving around town in 203deg coolant temp. Was told this is to be expected since there's a chunk of aluminum partially vlocking the radiator.
Was told that next step would be a cam, hp wise. Drivetrain improvements as higher tq stall, maybe taller gears. 1 7/8 headers.

Everything else is bone stock? 7psi with a 3.6 pulley sounds low to me. Did you do the install? I would check for leaks or for belt slip.
I don't know but maybe is just me who thinks that way.

Stock everything! No had a shop do the install. They said every safe hp has been squeezed before it compromises stock components in enfine and transmission.

if you hear a tuner say "safe tune" on a basic setup, that generally means it didnt make the hp we were hoping. something definately up with the setup and/or tune

To be absolutely fair, he asked me to choose from, power, cheap, or reliability and I chose reliability. So I'm thinking that influenced his approach

542rwhp on 7psi is not bad at all for a bone stock Ls2. Especially thru an auto. (Assuming stock exhaust manifolds and exhaust).

Headers/X-pipe and another couple psi would break 600rwhp with the stock cam still in it. That is the perfect combo for driveability/power.

I do have SLP headers and x pipe.... I think I'm another tune away to be really close to 600 and still have a reliable engine. But for now I'll concentrate in learning how to drive the car as is, probably get ready to replace the current Nittos pretty soon

I would say he gave you what you asked for, safe...
I asked for the same on my first tune, Ls7 and it made 580 on a mustang dyno with 4lbs
after adding meth and some boost we are at 665 on 7 lbs., let off at 6,300Rpm.
You should be able time find more in there when you are ready.

I honestly thought I would be around your numbers, maybe 40hp difference is not that noticeable

It seems that different tuners have different meanings of safe tunes. From what I have seen at East Coast Supercharging most of their LS2 with meth are 650+ on safe tune. RPM in garner NC had a c6 LS2 put down 821rwhp on a ECS kit, meth,..etc on stock bottom end

This as a consumer and car enthusiast makes you wonder, this is a big gap in numbers. Most LS2 I see over 600 have swapped ca s at least.
That's why people say to pick and choose a tuner wisely....
