What brand belt were you running? Just curious.

I doubt there's a lot of people in the 800rwhp range with a 6 rib belt

ECS setup?

Hell if I know. I haven't managed to break the cheapo NAPA one yet

I saw something from Gates a while back where they were going to start making some of their stronger belts in the common sizes we'd need. Downside is the have to be bought in bulk, not sure of the exact quantity.. but it wasn't just 1 or 2.. it was like 30

They'd know better than anyone...

I'd just replace it with a NAPA belt, same as the kit come with I think, and see how it does. May be just fine.

His belt is about an inch shorter. The last three digits of a belt sized like that are typically (roughly) the belt length in inches.

these guys usually have the best prices on the green belts if they make one close to your size, sometimes amazon has them and you can get them faster if you're a prime member

I get mine from amazon. Gates or goodyear make good belts. Napa is gates, along with most autoparts stores brand.

I have been running a gates green fleetrunner belt for about a year at 812rwhp on a 6 rib. No signs of belt slip either. Belt still looks great too. Discount fleet supply has the best prices.

Looks like no 6 rib 891's. They have something close in 8 rib but don't think I'll get a .8" shorter belt on my setup

Somebody recommend getting the 8 rib on the closest size to 891 which I think is 893 and then cut the extra ribs with a box cutter. I guess that can work but you have to be careful not to damage the necessary side (6).

when I was 6 rib I ran an 895, the 905 would probably be too long and 883 way too short... after swapping to 10 rib the 554 fits like a glove on my a&a bracket and secondary drive... I had talked to someone at gates asking why there was no 6 rib 895 in the fleetrunner and he told me that if the vehicles they are designed for haven't shown a need for them to make a fleetrunner then they don't, so that is probably the reason for the jump in sizes

I saw they had a 12 rib 891. Wonder if it could be cut in half??

Hard to tell but that's 2 belts for the price of one if it works!

Do you want to be the volunteer to figure this one out?
