Default Better option than ls3 water pump?? Ls9?

Water pump pulley broke on me and seems to have taken out the water pump. Is there and direct replacement for it that may be a better option. Seems like the ls9 water pump would be more suited for our force induction needs but I'm not sure if I would have to modify anything to get it to work. Also can the pump be replace with out blower bracket removal?

08 ls3
A&A kit and bracket with procharger
Ati 8 rib kit

Ls3 pump to ls9 pump?
Or
Ls3 pump to electric?

By broke do you mean the pulley came off? I always tack weld them to make sure they don't. Never see many problems with the stock pumps.

Yes always tack weld the pulley to the shaft with an SC. I'd just get an new LS3 and weld it.

Evans Water Pump ( special milled for sc, must talk to evans about this) and then Meziere, ive had both.. You have to remove the entire sc bracket for install, the blower has to be pulled out the way at least... But the entire bracket will be removed to put on the new water pump.. Just did this a few months ago.. Get some water pump gasket maker to help hold the wp gaskets while you place the wp on the car.. Also make sure the wp is 100%

hey arctic, do you have any numbers on flow rates of stock ls3/7 vs. the Evans at WOT that makes you say that? I'm just curious how big the difference is

My original pump from 2007 is still on my car, and has no issues.

Point is not everything expensive is a better option. Sometimes things just work great as they are.

Have any insight on why LS3 water pump would start leaking? Seems to happen only on the dyno.

I picked up an Evan from ECS. They modified it to fit with the S/C and I installed it myself in about three hours. It took over an hour to get the belt on.

I never had any issues before. I have a "street" set-up and dynoed 559 WHP. If I "hot rod" around on a 85 degree day I might see 205 but it drops down to 175 ish as soon as I settle down...
