Default Compression and E85?

What are some of the advantages or disadvantages of running higher compression on E85. Some shops are telling me to run 9.5:1-9.7:1 and other shops are telling me to run 10:1-10.5:1 since I'm running E85. The motor is a ERL 427CI 6 bolt block with 1/2" studs and All Pro 12-1 heads. I currently have a Paxton Novi 2200r supercharger (billet YSI). I'm probably switching to a F1x or possibly a twin turbo setup. My car is a street car so drivability is very important.

Thinking about it. Not set in stone yet.

I wouldn't run anything in the 9's on E85.

I wouldn't go that low on pump nevermind corn. High 10's at least IMO.

11:1+.

If it is not flex fuel, and never going to see pump, no reason to dick around with low compression.

Upgrading before things are done is a quick and easy way to get frustrated, never finish, and hate your car.

Winter blend is E70. So I'll most likely go with flex fuel. I don't drive the car in the winter. I'm just worried about getting a lower octane than E85. Especially in late fall or early spring. I plan on running E85 as much as possible.

E70 is leaps and bounds better than 91/93 octane.

Id say 11.1 and higher. I run 13.8:1 on E85 and boost and have for months now. I have done plenty of pulls and no problems. If it's an E85 only car personally I would go as high as possible.

I'm 100% on E85 and on my new motor (sleeved 388ci LSA) I went with 11.4 compression based on recommendation from friends and the builder. I have an F1X and hoping to make 1150 since I stayed with a 4 bolt block. Car also has dual nozzle meth.

thanks. should have numbers soon. I could have gotten the lsx block for about the same price but I didn't want the added 120lbs or the ability to make big power 1400+. i wanted to handicap myself so i keep enjoying the car b/c most 1400+ cars get parted out or sold. i went with the CA 625 ARP head studs to hopefully hold the heads down better.

The crank is already balanced for -18cc 9.7:1 pistons. I'm just going to mill the heads to 10:1. Decided to go with the All Pro 12-4 heads with 1" deck thickness.
