So I'm building my 05 c6. So far I have a d1sc procharger kit with magna flow axle back exhaust. Made right over 600 hp at 10-11lbs. So now I'm changing it up. Here is what I have so far that I ordered.
Ls3 heads and stock Intake and 65lb injectors and long tube headers with a set of cut outs
Custom cut comp cam for the procharger
Btr springs and push rods
Ls7 lifters
Ls9 head gaskets
Arp head studs
Mcloud RXT and Billit flywheel
Looking at trying to get close to 800hp at the wheels. So my next thing to open is my fuel system. I was looking at doing the stage one ESC fuel system or the a&a stage one fuel system. Does anyone recommend either? I'm also gonna be bumping the boost up to 12 -14lbs.
Also thinking about adding a alky dual nozzle kit or should I do a small shot of nitrous? I know meth will keep it all cooler but the nitrous will help it boost quicker and does anyone have any rough guesses what hp I could possible see.
I have had a D1 on my 2005 vette through many different combinations from 750whp stroked 402ci to my current 900whp setup with a LSX block 427 setup.
cutouts are a waste of time and will break constantly, just get a NPP exhaust from a newer vette and get the retrofit kit. i went through 3 sets of cutouts before i went with NPP and made >900whp through my NPP setup and it's great.
800whp will not last on stock bottom end. maybe 700whp would be ok. above that i'd recommend forging it
dual nozzle meth for sure do it, alky control
ECS fuel systems are awesome and i love mine. A&A is just as good and they are a great shop.
make sure you go 8 rib at a minimum. not sure what bracket you have but you'll need a modern bracket to avoid belt slip.
no need to change the heads or intake at 700whp imo and if you're getting new injectors may as well get 80lbs so you have some room?
if you are on the stock rear end you will want to replace that
#1 thing is make sure you have a good tuner and if having a shop do the work make sure they've done lots of supercharged vettes, otherwise don't do it or do it yourself. that will decide everything.
I'll be doing the tuning. I've tuned it so far as it is now and going to continuing with it. The tuners around me are jokes anyways. I knew about the rear ended and I've heard the ls2s are fine till 900 hp but won't hold out till very long. I don't want it to race everyday it's just a toy for me.

I would go with a low compression set up with a fully built motor, or at least low compression pistons and rods.the d1 is capable of making 900rwhp mine made 895 on 93 octane and a single nozzle methanol injection. And a built motor also you will like the McCleod Rxt clutch
I've been at various power levels with my D1SC. 630, 676, 702, 740, 780, 841, and 881. The latter are the newest numbers and all are on a stock bottom end LS3. Added a Fore fuel system and switched to E85. Still use meth and have the usual blower cam, headers car but with a Mantic twin and a badass tune.

Like Detoxx said, get you a good blower cam and some meth. At 800whp you might be looking at more injector and definitely want a better fuel setup. I run the return twin external from A&A and has worked well for me. Also look into getting a big mouth intake to free up some easy power. You will need to play with the pulley combo to get it to your desired power goal.
Easiest combo would be
Cam
Meth or e85
Big blower inlet
8 rib
Clutch
Enjoy

E85/meth/race fuel will really help hold that stock block together for much longer if you are shooting for those bigger numbers. Best of luck!
