Computers are much better now so any basic laptop will work fine. I prefer not to small a screen so I can watch more easily while tuning.

I bought this recently off the auction site..

Paid $64.00 with free shipping came loaded with Windows 7 Pro and runs HP Tuner just fine. Its a little older Mini HP model and the battery that came with it held a 2 hour charge. Bought a new battery ($12.00) and it will run almost 4 hours now before needing a charge. Easier to work on then my bigger HP Pro and for $64 you can't beat it.

My primary concern with finding a laptop for HP tuners would be battery life

Agree.. battery life important.. MacBooks are great, but far from budget machines.

I'm out of town for the weekend. And will get pics and exact details when I get back Sunday night.
I want to say 14.1", 2.0Ghz Pentium, 4Gb RAM, 320Gb HDD, Widows 7, but will conform Sunday.

Yeah pretty much anything should work. Wipe it clean and just keep the minimum software on there. Excel if you know how to use it and HPT and that's about it.
It doesn't take a lot of processing power.. get the screen size you want and a good battery and you'll be fine
(and I use a macbook pro too.. great battery life)

Finally got the specs. Just upgraded it to Windows 10. Battery is about 65%, not sure how long it's good for, I've always kept it plugged in.

Don't have hp tuner yet...best price on laptop? Do I need a laptop to set up dash logic to monitor wideband as well?
