So I was attempting to wire in my wideband last night and was following some instructions that I had gotten with the pillar pod gauge specifically made for the c6 and it basically said to tap/T-into the power and ground wires from the Light dimmer switch for the power and ground for the wideband, well upon doing so I think I possibly grounded out somewhere and blew a fuse/relay possibly because the wideband doesn't turn on, the dimmer switch seems to longer work and neither do all the buttons on the opposite side. (Info, Mode, Trip, Reset, etc.)
If anyone can point me in the right direction to help fix my issue that'd be great! Thanks.
I doubt that circuit can handle the additional current required for adding a wideband, which seems to make sense given what you're seeing
I ran mine back to the fuse box and used an add a circuit to add an additional fuse to a circuit that I found that was switched on with the ignition. It's worked fine for close to 2 years so I guess it worked.
Woohoo!
Thanks Guys, I disconnected my attempt to wire into the dimmer switch and everything works normal again. I'll look for a better power and ground like you guys suggested.
wideband doesnt draw so much power you could T it from the cigar 12v under the radio or the charger port i have done it like that in previous cars and worked perfect im sure the vette is no different
