Default Passive Highway Stomper

I've got an 09 Base. Love the way she moves.....However. I don't have any serious Tuners close to me, as I live in SE Kansas. And by close, I mean a min of 2 hours on the road.

She is my daily driver, and I've got 44k miles on her. The Wife and I were driving home the other night, and a spankin new Hellcat pulled along side on the highway. I gunned it, but had noooo chance. I don't want that to happen again!

I want to keep her my daily driver, but maintain the reliability, as I need it to get to where I'm going.

Been researching a bit, and the trend seems to be F/I.

Let the recommendations begin!!

Pretty common combo is ECS supercharger kit, meth injection and longtube headers. That will get you anywhere from 600rwhp to over 700 depending on tune/pulley/restrictor plate used (or not used)

A&A kit is nice too

What he said ^^^^

ECS/A&A kit, meth, longtubes, and call it a day. From there spend money on tires/clutch/etc.

I know everyone has talked about forced induction but have you looked into nitrous at all? You would have your same daily driver that you have now but at a flip of a switch have 150whp more and a lot more TQ. You can get a Lingenfelter LNC-2000 that plugs inline with your original coil harness that will pull timing whenever the system is armed. That way you can get away with the stock tune on your computer.

We offer a hardline plate system for a nice, neat install and takes all the guessing out of the equation. Vehicle specific hardlines and solenoid brackets. The system is $799.99 with a 10lb bottle, purge is $119.99, Bottle heater is $199.99, Lingenfelter LNC-2000 is 274.99 and a window switch is $164.99 So for roughly $1500 you can bolt on 150hp or more. If you have any questions about our products or nitrous in general let me know and i will be happy to help. My Contact info is Matt@Nitrousoutlet.com or can be reached at 254-848-4300 ext 111 -Matt

Nitrous is an inexpensive way to run with the big(ger) dogs (or cats) but it has its drawbacks. In my mind, the most significant drawback is when your 10lb bottle goes empty (depending on the size of the shot, a few pulls), the party is over. Its a pain in the a$$ to have "single serving" performance. You will find that the bottle will be empty at the most inopportune times.

Bang for your buck without the hassle of refilling (other than your meth tank) is a blower car. When I did it, I went with an ECS kit. A Paxton 1500, meth and headers got me 720 whpr on an otherwise stock LS2. I later added the ECS baby cam, went less aggressive on the tune and still made 760 wphr in 95 degree heat. Repeatable, reliable performance. If you wail on the car like a maniac, you might have to fill up the meth reservoir every 3-5 tanks of gas.

Good luck in your endeavors.

If I could do it all over, I would go UPP turbo kit. Just spend the extra now.

Funny you should say that......

After 5+ years at nearly 800 whpr, I got bored and decided to go TT. The cost is double that of a blower build but the car will be far more flexible from a user standpoint. Not a bad idea if your pockets can take the hit.

Thanks for the referral's gents, greatly appreciated!

OP, feel free to call us if you would like to discuss this in length. The recipe is fairly simple though as Schpenzel already pointed out.

Three mods and you can easily put a Hell cat in it's place. Well four if you include tires. ECS kit, meth injection and AR Headers. Add a cam and our stg 1 fuel system and you won't bother with many other cars anymore, 1000 cc bikes will be more fun.

$5K for ECS kit
$2K for headers
$0.6K for alky
$0.5K for ATI balancer
$2K for Mantic 9000
$0.5K for cam if you want one
$1K if you add fuel system

I'm coming up with ~$10K + labor or ~ $12K if you do cam + fuel system, before labor

Don't need a clutch. Friend made 700rwhp for years, zero clutch issues. Never ran a drag radial. Finally pulled clutch and it looked brand new.

$2k for headers is really high.

If anything add a dashlogic/gauges.

you'll want a clutch if you drive it the way I drive my cars

reliability as a daily is debatable if you drive the cars the way I do...I know from experience.

Local friend has headers, cam, and supporting bolt-ons for his LS3 C6 and without the blower makes around 500 RWHP. It's no joke on freeway pulls. It's no boosted LSx but it's a solid mid upper 120s MPH trapping car in the 1/4mi. If you're daily driving the car I would not go the forced induction route...been there done that.

Disagree, FI is awesome for daily driving.

Much better than a heads/cam setup. Better gas mileage, better drivability.
