I installed an Alky Control kit and did some data logging yesterday. The IATs are dropping into the 40s with ambient in the 60s. If I add timing to the IAT spark adder table around 40*, then the car will run with higher timing on 40* days, even without meth. Are you guys constantly tweaking the IAT adder table based upon the season? Seems like there must be a better way.
No reason it should be adding timing on 40F days. Do you see 40f intake temps on 40f days? I doubt it. Add timing in the high load/high rpm cells and not at idle/etc. That way it only effects when you are on it.

Of course, I wasn't suggesting adding timing in part throttle or idle cells.
I'm not sure what my IATs are on 40* days but it's going to get colder this week so, I'll check. I also installed the IAT in the front of my intake manifold and copied the ZR1 IAT2 data into my ECU (over my normal IAT values whilst updating the column axis). I haven't verified the IAT readings are accurate either.
You don't really have to add any timing to just use the iat benefit because you'll just be taking out less timing due to iat on the meth. If you want to be "meth dependent," then you add timing.
The IAT when the car first started was within a few degrees of the HVAC. That's the way it was before I relocated and recalibrated it. At least around 50*, it seems relatively accurate.
With ambient in the mid 50s and IATs were in the mid-to-high 60s after some spirited driving. It's hard to gather much data in Mexico during the week.
