That's pretty crazy. I made at least 50 passes close to those times with a stock trans and never broke that shaft.
Broke lots of other stuff though. LOL.

When you open it up, you will see it sheared off of the rear planetary...
Did you have any wheel hop...???

That sucks cause I don't believe anyone makes an upgraded part for that. I have a billet intermediate shaft but stock output.

Nah no wheel hop ever. Diff had 1300 miles on it and I put 2200 miles extra on it and 12-15 passes (mostly 1/8th). Was actually pretty tame on the street for the most part as I don't tend to street race (haven't ever with the Vette). Trans only as 23xxx miles on it.

Just trying to figure out why this would happen without wheel hop.

Do you have stock mounts on it ? Thinking maybe too much flex. ??

Right... No upgraded part for that... I had the billet intermediate shaft too, along with all the other upgrades...

Can never feel bad.. its part of the game. But it would be nice to figure out how to possibly avoid this... or at least lesson the chances.

Ive broken axles, and diff shafts, but never a hard part in the trans.. Maybe our crappy track that doesn't hold well was saving me. I dunno.

Called RPM about a 4L60 conversion and I can't ball that hard. Talked to Century and they're gonna send me an email with a list of upgraded parts. That's most likely what will happen. Mike from Century sad he's only seen 3 main shaft failures so they haven't had a reason to develop an upgrade for it.

Yeah.. looked into the 4L60 swap.. too much money for a trans that seems to not hold up that well anyways. I guess its upgrade whatever we can and hope for the best.

Dont know what type power you are putting to the wheels.... I don't think its the parts inside them... TUNING, Tuning, tuning... Find somebody that really knows... Tuners and Builders are killing the trans... Even the "Built" ones... Contact Pat G.

Not sure on the blower but made mid 7s on turbo.

I've spent countless hours studying 6l80e tuning and trying stuff on my car. I feel I have a pretty good handle on it. Not saying there isn't room for improvement but I feel confident in my 6l80 tuning skills at this time. I do agree Pat G is great at what he does though.
