Cooling Update

Just for fun, and because I had a $300 amazon gift card wasting away, ordered a B&M oil cooler to mount in drivers side area. I have a factory z06 cooler but didn't want to mess with that. Already have LPE block for oil cooler, so no added cost there since its just rotting away in garage. I doubt it will change much of anything, but could help.

B&M oil cooler with fan here. I really cant say how much it helps, because was done at same time as everything else, but I'm sure it contributes something.

To be honest, I don't really remember exactly, but they are good. Havent driven the car since last year. Just plated it for the season and its raining every dam day.
I will double check and post here as soon as I have a chance to drive it.

I've never had an oil temp issue. They are either 180-200, or identical to water temp. So adding some cooling to the oil may help, as when coolant temp is 220 oil temp is 220. I like hot oil, and it would be nice if I could get 250F oil while 220 or less coolant.
Worst case I'll pull it off my vette if it doesn't help and throw it on the jeep. Jeep could always use more cooling.

So I got my blower on... This the newest A&A kit with their customer Griffin radiator, retaining the stock fan. The setup runs a consistent 200-208ish. The thing is, when I'm at a stop with the A/C off, it hovers there or maybe gets to 210. When i drive on the highway, it rises and hangs around 214-220, again, with the A/C off. Do you think it's because the fans are off over a certain speed and the flow is bad, but at a stop the fan is pulling cool air in and lowering the temps again?
I'm following this thread to see what things to try when I start to see that temps are not under control this summer when it gets hot!

If it only goes up at idle, it is lack of fan/airflow at idle.
As long as I'm moving, zero issues. Drops 15-20 degrees very quickly once moving.

I run the smaller B&M super cooler (Fan) oil temp mimic cooling temps, but once in the 190-200 range they come down but a lot slower if I cruise for a decent amount of time tey drop pretty fast.

$204 for oil cooler adapter
$322 for cooler
$245 for lines/fittings
Made lines myself, bracket myself. Took a day to install.
Only 85 out today so can't really say much.

Drove around. Only 94F outside so not hot but not cool. Ac full blast, water temps hit 212, oil temp levels off at 198. Seems to be better, but need a solid 105+ day to really test it.

Improved thermostat one that has the bottom feed. I have the LPE one without the T-stat but never liked how the lines went.

That cooler setup looks pretty slick. I'm thinking maybe you need to try that Pat G front bumper cut and weld mod, or just do one of those tubular nose supports like Dudeman built for his car. Not sure if that will help on your car though, since you have a custom intercooler? Is there space above the intercooler that air could pass through the AC condenser/radiator if the bumper wasn't blocking it? If so, that might help.

Not sure if they have anything for the corvette yet but ran into this on LSX mag.

With bumper on, it is right up against the fog light hole, so that is basically done. No room or anything to do a shroud.
