boosted cam swap time
How long does it take you guys to do cam/spring swap with Novi 1500 already installed? Shop with a lift isn't available to me now, so I will be doing it in my garage at the house.

Add 1.5 hours or so to total time. So maybe 10 hours total.

Honestly the springs were the biggest PITA for me. I bought one of those cheap *** valve spring tools off of LS1tech. Don't do that. It took me twice as long trying to get this skimpy piece of junk to hold a valve spring down at the right angle to get the keepers on. It was maddening. Then I had to clean and re-grease it every other spring because it was about to strip the threads off.
Spend the $100 and get the comp camps valve spring compressor tool that squarely compresses two springs at once
Ok, rant over.
For experienced person I'd say 10 hours is more than enough. It took me longer than that but I screwed up and didn't put the timing chain dampener in so I had to take the balancer back off and do a lot of it twice
I'd plan on two short'ish days or one really long one if you want to knock it all out at once. I'd take valve train off and change valve springs one day then do cam/put rockers and stuff back on another day, personally
Thinking about it some more you might be better off getting the steering rack out of the way first before you screw with valve springs, makes it a lot easier to turn the engine over to get each cylinder to TDC
I also found that you can unthread the rods from the SC head unit and that helped get it out of the way quicker. I got mine apart really quick but it took longer getting it back together
It was a PITA getting the pinned spot for the balancer and crank to line up well enough for the pin to go back in
I think that's about it. Any questions, ask, we have similar setups.

I was hoping it could get done in a weekend. I was already thinking how hard its going to be to get the balancer back on the pin as well.
Now just need to call Tooley or someone to spec out a cam for me. Its my daily, so I want to go as big as I can get without drivability issues.
Did you guys switch to a 3 bolt sprocket or is there no need to worry about that?

Mine was 3 bolt from the factory but if there's a model that comes with a 1 bolt then I'd ditch it and switch to 3. I though 1 bolt was only truck setups but I could be wrong on that one
Pat G spec'd cam on mine, I'm sure BTR won't have any issues doing that for you too

Same here, 3 bolt from factory. Strongly suggest doing the ARP bolts/locking plate if possible.

Looks like LS2 is 3, LS3 is 1, LS7 is 3 and L92 is 1
Either way, switch to 3 bolt, add a locking plate, good bolts and red loctite (or lactate as autocorrect tried to say). You really don't want those bolts coming out.
