base model tire options
Currently i'm running a 17 in z06 rep in the rear with a set of 275/40r17 et streets but i'm having a hard time hooking from a 1st gear 40 roll or 2nd gear 60 roll. Car makes right around 600tq so wondering what tire you roll cars are using as i'm spinning and against all these higher HP cars thats not good. keep in mind i'm limited in tire width as I am a narrow body car still. TIA

I have a 19x11 rear wheel and fit a 325 in the rear.. i think you could expand your tire size a bit. My car is a base. Roll racing will definitely be different than dig, but I have heard mixed reviews about the new M/T ET street SS's. I have a buddy with 04 cobra and 26x11.5 15's dont hook well at his 600rwtq power level.

I run a 305/35/18 S/S on a 10.5" wheel as an everyday tire and I think it does pretty well with the 725rwtq my car makes. I also has a set of ET Rs on 17s which hook better but I only run them on the track.

Do you drive in alot of rain? How do they fair in wet conditions? I am about to have to replace my RE-11's and might switch.

I dont dd the car anymore so not really worried about rain or anything like that i just want a tire that'll hook. It only comes put to race and usually its against higher HP cars so cant afford to spin against them

I run a 305 35 18 R888 rear on a 18x11 on a narrow body car. When the car made 760, it hooked well on this tire from 40/60. I think this is what you may be looking for. To get more traction, you will need a drag radials or a smaller diameter wheel and a sticky tire with more sidewall.

So narrowing it down to a couple tire options.
Stock is obviously 285/35r19 which is a 26.854 height so want something that wont throw speedo off too bad. Options are:
275/40r17 (currently on car): tire height 25.661
275/50r17 M&H drag radial: tire height 27.827
305/45r17 MT Drag radial: tire height 27.8
I guess i should clarify i'm a APS TT car so if i roll into it doesn't spin but while brake boosting it spins of the initial hit.

For a multi use tire I would say the R888 in 305/35/18 would be the best dry traction tire that could still be driven in rain (carefully).
My car currently makes mid 800swhp and low 700s wtq

I don't drive that car in the rain at all, nor would I recommend those tires for rain use. Being able to hook the power in dry pavement requires a trade off.
For a multi use tire I would say the R888 in 305/35/18 would be the best dry traction tire that could still be driven in rain (carefully).

I've done two hour road trips in the rain on my MT ET Street SS with no issues. They hook well on the street and do fine in the rain. The only issue I had was lateral movement at speeds above 120mph.

The tires you are running now are better than anything suggested. How old are they? How many heat cycles?
What you find out about DRs, is they are not made for street use. A fresh set will hook great, but after a month or 15-20 heat cycles, even with tons of tread, they won't hook nearly as well as a fresh set. The way to hook on street and win races, is fresh tires.
The 28" tires may work better just because they kill the gearing and slow the car down.

Tires are pretty old have had them over a year so im sure im due for new ones just trying to plan for future as i plan on turning it up a bit more in the winter time.
One of the reasons im looking into a 28 in tire is cus of it killing my gearing so itll help me stay in powerband a little longer. Heres a base i found with 28x10 hoosiers so they fit with minimal clearance issues
