Default LSX cooling system

I've noticed that my LSX seems to really trap air pockets compared to my LS9. Is that something due to a different water jacket design? Any one else notice the same issue? I manually burped it yesterday and but popping the reservoir cap off and letting it idle up to temp and squeezing the smaller hose coming off the thermostat housing. Anyone else notice this?

Temps went from about 203* down to 181-187* while ambient was 81* and a bit of stop and go traffic with the A/C running.

Where is that located at? And do I do it while that car is running or off?

I usually javk the front of the car up and with the car running crack the crossover tube (10MM) on each head and let it run out til there are no more air bubbles, tighten them up and install cap and let it get up to temperature and then let it cool down 100%. Next day i'll top it off and its usually done.

Awesome will do. I did the old school burp of popping the cap and grabbing the line off if the thermostat and flexing that and burped a bunch of air out. Coolant went from 203* driving around to 181-189* now. I'll do your technique and see if anymore air is in there.

So I'm looking at mine and I'm guessing because its an LSX with mast heads and a ZR1 its slightly different. I'm assuming the lines you guys are talking about end up going to the reservoir on the drivers side and one runs to a hard line that runs parallel to the radiator and then converges with the line going into the reservoir. Mine are clip on plastic lines and are hooking to a hard line that appears to be going down to the heads.

nope. look at under the intake manifold in front. see a hard line that connects to both heads. like a 1/4" line

I cracked the rear two steam blocks to burp it along with the front two. In a Vette it would be easier to have all 4 corners tied together since it's not easy to reach the rear ones.

if you google "steam vent lsx" you'll find a bunch of pics but it's on the front and back of each cylinder head and pretty small bolt. I went with kurt urban steam vent kit because i like to waste tons of money on stuff that may not matter at all but it also helps with this issue. I always burped my coolant system with the front of the car jacked up and never had an issue and i have LSX block
