I just did some modifications to the cooling system on my supercharged Z06 and even with this heat wave we were having I saw average temps under 200. The changes we made were night and day. Before I was 220+ all the time and the fan was getting taxed so hard that it melted the plug. Here is my thread showing what we did:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...06-v3-kit.html

At a minimum the bolt on Dewitts radiator and fan setup should help a lot.

Zero legit reason to run smaller cut down radiator that cools worse than stock. Read the 10000x threads on this issue. Stock radiator is actually pretty damn good when setup properly. If you do upgrade a full size Dewitts is a decent option but most of the time a stock radiator has more than enough capacity.

2and1/2" high quality core minus 3" of cut down is still way bigger and better then the p.o.s. stock 1" radiator... All of my temps are significantly lower now in both daily mode and getting on it, and now there is an intercooler in the way too...

Plenty of cars like Detoxx running stock radiator making 900+rwhp. Typically it is the fan setup that is lacking for low speed. The thicker radiators make fan even worse since it has to draw the air through a bigger restriction. So if cooling at high speed is an issue a radiator is a decent upgrade, but most people are having low speed cooling, in which a stock radiator is more than enough, and the thinner core can actually be better.

You can fit a 4" pipe on a full length radiator, so downgrading to a smaller cut down core is silly unless it is a full race car. Stay full length.

I see most complaining about idle cooling but how do stock, cut down and full size dewitts do in 1/2 mile and mile events?

ya driving i am fine on hot days like 200-210 but if i get stuck in traffic sitting i hit 230ish range on the coolant - so slow speeds is where i need the cooling help

Would be it better to just do a 17in brushless fan set up and leave stock rad?

D3 setup is far superior to the 17" setup.

Copy Detoxxs setup. Based off what you said, you just need more fan at low speeds. Start with just the fan upgrade and go from there. Do that along with a coolant flush and a 70/30 or whatever split of coolant.

Where is Detoxx from? I'm sure a lot is relative to where you live like Unreal being in Arizona where well over 100 ambient is normal.

detoxx use to live with me here in south louisiana (now he up north), where it 95F and high humidity. which is way worse than 105 dry heat when comes to cooling. im running stock fan and radiator and able to somewhat keep up. if i get stuck in really bad traffic it will go in 230s. highway speed no more than 205-210 beating on it usually 220

70% water/30 coolant, with a bottle of water wetter.

That being said, I run 80/20, or even 90/10, but it never gets below freezing in AZ. Run the max water to give you the freeze protection you need.
