Default Fuel pressure sensor

my dash logic started to read -19 fuel pressure. Dead sensors? What sensor you guys use on your gauges? Autometer 2246? It has some shitty brass Chinese sensor in there at the moment by googling the ss204 part number of it. Lasted 3 years but ok. Only thing I could think it would be is the sensor right?

I would guess the sensor. Take the input out of the dashlogic and put a meter on it and see what the voltage looks like.

(I was hoping others would chime in, as I can't offer much here. Hope this helps...)

I purchased - but haven't used or installed this one. It was what others here recommended back when I researched it. I plan to install and run to my DL on next round of mods.

You use the correct sensor for your gauge, unless you can calibrate your gauge to use an alternative sensor. Otherwise it aint gona read correctly.

And incorrect readings could be faulty sensor, gauge or wiring.

5v 0-100psi 1/8th. The dash logic just run an autometer sender. Was trying not to pay 120 so was looking for a cheaper alternative but ended up installing one today. Fender off, install, fender on. Fixed!

I use a 5v regulator off a switched 12v source.

All such sensors will use a dedicated 5v line same as all ecu related sensors, from the ecu.
This must also be accompanied by the relevant sensor ground, again this must come from the ecu and never be tied to chassis ground.

This will apply to all 3 wire powered sensors hooked up to the ecu, which can easily be shared on these 5v/0v lines.

So im not using a gauge but ive installed a sensor and plumbed it to my HPTuners, now how can i view the data?
I need kind of a walkthrough setting up the PID in my program. I'd ask my tuner but ts winter and i cant really get any street tuning done so i dont want to pay my tuner right now for services i cant utilize, id rather do that next spring when i can use the throttle.
After tuning i plan to purchase a dashlogic.

That does help! Thanks Canuck! I’ll give this a shot tomorrow and see what I come up with.

You have to setup the input first. Add whatever input channel to (MPVI 1/2/3/4) to your list of channels first, then right click on it, transform, then what I usually do is find the closest fuel pressure sensor that is in the list of pre-defined ones. After you find that, click on it and there should be an icon that's like "fx", hit that, then you can edit the formula, change it to work for whatever sensor you're using and hit ok or whatever to close out that screen. Now HPT knows how to convert the 0-5V signal into pressure.

Then you can use "fuel pressure" in charts/graphs/gauges like Canuk mentioned
