As for can't keep up, I would make a joke about just waiting for your PC to die, but it isn't as funny when my car is dead, so I won't go there.

Not clamping force, as they are still stock size studs, but they are a stronger material less likely to stretch/deform. Now they may be torqued higher, not sure. Would have to ask engine guy, but the benefit is the strong stud, not increased clamping force.
Was a ~$400 upgrade compared to $860 upgrade. $1000 head studs vs $1460 for 1/2"

I've just drilled/tapped my own block although I opted for Viper studs that cost $360.
These are almost a perfect length match and ARP2000 vs regular 8740 for the Cleveland, and the Clevelands are a little longer apparently.
Plus as a Viper kit...it leaves spares.
ARP state 120lbft for the Viper, although doubt I'll go over 100lbft, 4 bolt setup still. They state 110lbft for the Cleveland kit.

Although it was a slow task doing all of them ! ( I had a guide setup made for all the drilling/tapping operations so less chance of me ******* it up )
I wanted to do the 625's a few years ago, but it seemed like they were like rocking horse **** back then....nowhere I tried to buy could supply, or even give any sort of indication when they'd get stock. Paid 2 different places and waited 3 months each time and got nothing.
For the heads, do all the huge port heads really make a difference to power ? How do they then perform at the lower end ?

Went with 285 head ports instead of 305.
If I was doing 1/2" it would be the ARP2000 instead of the 8740, but the cost on the stud kit was $800+, plus the machining. $360 must be just the 1/2" studs, and not include all the other outside bolts/etc.
My builder has the CA625 in stock on the shelf, so no worries on finding/getting them.

$360 was for the Viper studs, so 24 studs in total but yes, only would only cover the 20 main studs you'd use for an LS
I cant really see any need to change the outer M8 fasteners, and that would also only be for a 4 stud in my case.
the 625's do seem to be more readily available now though so do make perfect sense.
