Default New FI setup, please help me set goals.

So I'm planning to go FI as my next major mod and I'm trying to set some realistic goals (and with that, understand my expenses). I'm not looking for max effort just a fun, reliable, streetable setup. Here's the car as it sits:
  • 2011 Grand Sport M6
  • Kaotik cam 235/243 .621/.624 113 LSA +3 (BTR springs, 7.4" p/r, etc).
  • Kooks 1 7/8", no cats, 3" X-pipe to 2.5"
  • Factory NPP 2.5"
  • 160* T-stat
  • ATI 100% drive balancer, pinned, 8 rib.
My plan is to go with an ECS 1500 kit. The car is street tuned and I'm guessing I should be around 520-540 CHP and 480 RWHP as it sits right now. With that in mind:
  • What kind of power should I expect with 6-8 lbs of boost?
  • At what point would meth injection be a really good idea? (required?) For mobile users that can't see my location, I am in Florida
  • 60 or 80 # injectors?
  • Would a BAP support 6-8 # of boost on a car that's already 100 ish above stock HP? Or would I need to go with an ECS Stage 1 fuel system?
  • Am I completely fooling myself to think I will get ANY clutch life if I'm not launching the car? (2-3 gear highway pulls).
  • I'm not particularly interested in going E85; as a street car I want to be able to fill up at any pump and run ordinary washer fluid in the meth tank for convenience if possible.
In my mind, my goal is get to a reliable ~650 RWHP and be done with it. Am I in the ballpark with my current mods and line of thinking? Thank you all in advance for your advice, I've been trying to piece together some realistic idea of what I'm getting myself into before I jump into the deep end.

-Pete

I have a nearly identical setup to your end result so I'll answer your questions the best I can.
My car is a 2012 Grand Sport with the below mods:
ECS 1500 supercharger
Alkycontrol Meth kit
Comp Cams Custom grind cam 231/239 113LSA
ARH 1 7/8" headers
High flow cats
Stock NPP exhaust
RPS twin disc carbon clutch w/remote bleeder
  • What kind of power should I expect with 6-8 lbs of boost?
I'm at 8lbs right now and put down 630whp 567wtq with meth
  • At what point would meth injection be a really good idea? (required?) For mobile users that can't see my location, I am in Florida
I'd add it at the same time as the blower if you can afford to.
  • 60 or 80 # injectors?
    I have 67lb injectors
  • Would a BAP support 6-8 # of boost on a car that's already 100 ish above stock HP? Or would I need to go with an ECS Stage 1 fuel system?
I just have the ECS BAP and 67lb injectors
  • Am I completely fooling myself to think I will get ANY clutch life if I'm not launching the car? (2-3 gear highway pulls).
The owner I bought my car off of said the clutch didn't last too long after he added these mods. I'm sure it'll last for a little bit but it won't be happy

Thanks Donny! You’ve answered my questions PERFECTLY! It sounds like meth is going to be a requirement right out of the gate to reach the power levels and safety I want to get to. It’s not so much about spending the money, whatever it takes is whatever it takes, I’ll just save a little longer if I need to. I just hate getting into these projects and then finding all of these other little issues along the way that weren’t planned for, that’s when these things become nightmares. Suddenly you’re shelling out $500 here and $1000 there just to get your car running again and that’s no fun.

By the way, I was flipping through some of your other posts, how are you doing on temps? Are you still on the stock radiator and how is that holding up in Arizona?

Forgot to add that the 630whp was after being retuned on 91 w/meth out here in AZ. Previous owner said it put down 671whp w meth out there in Tampa on 93 w meth.

As far as temps it's a bit on the warm side. Still on the stock radiator/fan setup. Been up to 230 so far on hot days 105-110 out here. Guy I bought it from said it'd get up to 225 out there.

I plan on getting into Cordes Performance here shortly to have them do a Prospeed fan setup on it

Thanks again, I’ll be looking forward to hearing how the fan set up works without doing a radiator. A Deawitts radiator and fan set up as another thousand bucks plus into the project.

More like $1500+ on fans/radiator.
