Default Trimming water pump bosses? - ECS Install

How did you all trim your water pump bosses? The instructions say to use a small air saw or similar but I don't see how an air-saw will get in there. Tomorrow I'll pull the pump and maybe I'll have better access but curious what others have done.

We use a sawzall, plenty of room, comes off in seconds.

Hi Doug, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that’s one of the few tools I don’t own. Guess now’s a good time to add it to the collection!

Hack saw can probably get in there too. If you have any questions along the way feel free to PM me or call in/Email us.

Thanks Doug! I think I’m going to pick your one of those oscillating saws, they seem pretty handy to have anyway.

Just wanted to follow up for anyone searching this in the future. I picked up a Milwaukee 12 volt oscillating saw (I already have other Mwk 12v tools) and it did the job. In fairness the 12v kit was probably a little under powered for the job as it was a little slow and I had to charge 2 batteries, but the end result was a very clean, flush cut and it had great access to the offending bosses.

My only complaint using this tool was it made very fine chips that were quite a mess. Nothing a can of brake cleaner didn't fix but be sure to plug any open hoses, piping, intake, etc. before starting.
