Default ESS Tuning G3X Supercharger testing.

ESS Tuning’s G3X supercharger killed it in testing. This thing pours on the boost incredibly fast.

(Was 850whp over spinning the Novi1500).

First one tested on LS3 C6.

4” in. 3” out. Almost same size as Novi 1500. Smaller and lighter then YSI, V7 and the others in the power range. Unbelievable billet wheel and ceramic bearings that will take 70,000 continuous and bursts to 75,000. Internal gearing allows for

85mm (3.3”) upper pulley

and 203mm balancer (8” 10%OD).

Car @7000rpm spins supercharger at 72,500rpms

Car- LS3 GS

Outlaw Race Engines built LS3

Stock Block and Crank.

Wiseco Extreme pistons

TSP ibeam Rods.

ARP bolts and studs.

BTR blower cam

Heads (Ported by Outlaw Race Engines)

Small ECS intercooler. (Need the race model. This one is maxed, limiting flow and cooling)

A&A direct drive 8 rib

A&A External double pumper

Walbro 450

AUS Ported ID1300’s

Pump E85 (flex fuel)

Alkycontrol dual nozzle

ESS Tuning G3X Supercharger

Tuned and installed with love by

Bill @ Arizona Elite Motorsports

1004/888 on mustang.

21.8psi. 14deg timing.

Need to upgrade intercooler then test more. Maybe some more timing.
Unbelievably happy so far. It’s silly now. Still stock trans, diff and axles. 🤞🏼

Those are some impressive gains! Do you have any overlays of the 2 graphs? Is the oiling self-contained as well?

it is self contained. I have not done an overlay on the graphs. Don’t even know how.
To get 1000+hp I saw 21.8psi on the dyno. I’m seeing as high as 25.5 on the street in the cold air which is probably near 1100hp. I’m going from an 85mm- 91mm today. I would need to up the fueling but then I’d have too much power for the block. Going to back it down a bit and try to keep it around 1000. It really is a great supercharger.

The tuner/shop that dyno'd the car should be able to overlay runs from your Vortech/Novi and the ESS blower to compare. Was this a direct swap for the Vortech blower into the bracket? Our setups are quite similar as I'm currently running the A&A V3 Ti with 8-rib direct drive, dual pump external system, E85 and meth. Power is similar as well 820/720 dynojet SAE. I'm going to do a built iron block soon and would like to turn up the wick and this blower seems to fit the bill, especially if power under the curve is similar but with more top-end. So is the new blower a 91mm compressor wheel compared to 85 for the Vortech? Also curious to hear at what power you started running out of fuel

I looked on ESS' site, but didn't see anything for our platform. Do you have a link to this available?

Thanks!

Just watched it, interested to hear how it does against some other cars (post vids). Any plans to race it in the 1/4 or 1/2 mile? I would like to see how the power translates to trap speeds.

I will check on the overlay. I ran a 3.25 and then 3.125 (79mm) pulley on the Novi 1500. Was 850whp on a mustang on that set up with single nozzle and ID1050x injectors.
For the ESS supercharger I added a second meth nozzle and opened the injectors to 1300cc at AUS. The ESS has different gearing in it so you can pulley up and don't risk belt slip. I have the 85mm pulley on it and hit 21.8psi on the dyno. I have enough fuel for 21psi and 1000whp but its hitting 25+ psi on the street before redline (7200) so I need more fuel. Adding a boost a pump to the A&A double external will get me the fuel but then I'm well over where I build the block for. I think this ESS supercharger can run 1100hp in the cool winter air no problem with the right amount of fuel. I'm going to try the 91mm and see if I'm still getting 21-22psi peak. Go up or down from there.
The supercharger mounts to my bracket and is a special prototype set up. I'm the first car to test it out and giving them feedback. They are working up pricing for this exact supercharger for public sale. It will be very well priced. It's small and light and packs a huge punch for sure. Best thing will be to call them and get more information on it.

Monday the 14th I have a private 1/4 trackway to test the car out with some buddies. I'll post up the results. Still stock trans and axles so I won't be launching hard but like you said the trap speeds should show. DA here is 1500-2000 at least in the winter. so thats not a benefit.
Its tough to find anyone to race. I beat all the cars I could find with the Novi1500. No one with decent power wants to line up now for a roll race. Couple mid 700hp cars have ran for fun but it wasn't close.

I’m enjoying following your journey. I have a 2010 Auto Grandsport and just installed the BTR centri blower cam and in the process of shopping for a supercharger kit.

Thanks man. Its been fun so far. BTR blower cam is awesome. The ESS supercharger is no joke either. A 2018 boosted 2018 mustang that I can just walk away from just trapped 145mph last night so excited to see what it traps on Monday at the strip.

I hope so. Their brackets are next level. So clean.
Give them a call and see what they have going. Mine mounts to the brackets I already had.

Just checked out your YouTube channel, congrats on the 9.7!! What tire are you running in the rear (size / radial or bias). Looks like a M/T ET Street R. I just put on a Carlyle spindle kit and I'm trying to find the right tire for Mexico and 1/4 mile. I'm leaning towards the ET Street R bia ply.

Thanks a lot! I run the Mickey T pro radial.
275/60-15. Tire works great. Bias can get squirmy at speed in Mexico so I went with radial. Works good on street and cuts 1.40 60’ on track with 6 speed so good there too.

Sorry for replying so late. They are the Mickey Thompson pros Radial. I wanted a radial because the bias ply get a little loose at higher speeds in Mexico.
275/60-15 “small tire”.

Cam motion blower stage 3
234/246 612/595 116+4

He gave me some pullies around 4" but we did speed calculations and I'm gonna try to start with a 3.8" pulley that should put blower around 56k rpm at my 6800 rev limiter... I did the cast wheel(53k rpm) and ceramic bearings(70k rpm) G3 blower to start; might ugrade later...
