Default Meth test question

How much fluid flows during test? I just installed my kit (alky kit with pro meth remote tank) when I hit the test button, the pump pumps fluid but it’s not a whole lot of pressure. Let me know what your guys experience is.

If you detach the line from the nozzle, it flows out like water out of a garden hose without a nozzle.

Ok, I took the line right off the pump since it’s mounted under the drive rear cubby. And it just kinda flowed out like you described. It pumps Harder when in actual use tho right?

Yes, more voltage is applied while in use and operating off of the MAP input.

I think it only pumps 50lbs with the red light on. Just to test or engine will flood out. If it goes full oust around 150lb can damage engine.

It wont damage the engine. worst case is it could foul the plugs. There is a story in one of Schpenxel's threads where his boost a pump went out and caused him to break down. He drove the car home running only Meth, pressing the test button.

red light means 50psi or less. Could be 0psi, could be 48psi

green light means 50psi or more. could be 52psi, could be 200psi. Either way all you're getting is a red or green light

The system has no feedback system to adjust the pump to target a specific pressure or anything fancy like that,

edit: Yup, that was me. I made it too. I don't think I could get over like 30mph haha, but I made it.. wasn't enough fuel to make enough power to go faster than that. But it worked to get me a few miles or os

Is it supposed to be under 50 psi ? In other words, are we looking for a red or green light for the best result ?

There isn’t a super simple answer to that question.

The point is more that it needs to be consistent and you should be getting a green light on most setups after a certain amount of boost. When? I can’t say. It’s different for every setup and depends how the system is configured.

Pressure is in direct correlation to orifice size and restriction. Find someone or a shop who has experience with methanol kits if you are unsure. Bad toons and parts that aren't functioning correctly can cost an engine.

Interesting heard from shop owners in Rochester & Syracuse that they went out of business. Either way good luck
