Default 05 or 2005 Fan Upgrade

Buy an 2005 fan they said, it has a full shroud and cools better they said, it's a direct swap for 06-13 cars they said..

It might be a direct swap for a car that doesn't have a centri on it but after notching it in several places like the original to clear blower/intake tube/etc, it's still a no go. Will NOT fit with A&A bracket, F1A blower and Dewitts radiator. Looks like it's over an inch thicker than the '06 fan. Not sure how the 2005 owners are running a blower unless it's a small headunit maybe?

Guess I'm off to find a low profile dual setup that will work. Just wanted to put this out there for anybody searching for a cheap upgrade.

What is the performance on this fan? I was looking at Prospeed but they are 5 weeks out right now and I want to drive my car!

I have a 2005 with an A&A V3Si, I had no issues installing the blower, I also didn't know the 05 has a different fan shroud lol. I've never had cooling issues though if that helps!

I figured it had to do with the thicker Dewitts radiator and the bigger head unit.

It has a full shroud, supposedly it pulls more air through. It's a cheap try though, I found a nice used one for $100.

I've seen several guys with the 05 say they've never had cooling issue and I'm guessing this is why ha. And like I said, I'm sure the thicker Dewitt radiator and large headunit isn't helping. I had to trim/shave the stock/slimmer 06 fan assembly to fit.

My 05' had a v3-t on a&a bracket and Dewitt's and I didn't have fitment problems or hard time working on it. Hmmm

Got an 05 fan with a Dewitt's rad, running a D1SC with no clearance issues. Now the front sway bar...that's another story.

Got to be the headunit then.. I had to cut on my 06 fan to get it to clear and the 05 is over an inch thicker. Also, emailed Procharger and they say the F1A is roughly 5/8" bigger/thicker from mount face to other side..

I should have took pics of the fans side by side but I didn't.
