Default Updated E-Force Dyno Numbers

So I had my car re-tuned yesterday by David Griffen of GriffTuned LLC near Indiana. My car is a 2011 Grand Sport 6-spd manual. I installed an E-force with a 3.5" pulley, BAP, Kooks headers (with cats), and a Monster LT1-S clutch.

The Edelbrock provided tune was way off. Car made near stock HP on that canned tune. 398 HP and 382 TQ. Could easily feel the car didn't have the power it should

Had the car initially dyno tuned at Norris Motorsports on a very hot and humid day. He did a okay job on the tune and final numbers were up to 460 HP and 480 TQ. I had posted those results here previously and a lot of people commented that my numbers were a bit low. I had thought it was because of the hot humid conditions. As I drove the car more and more, it still didn't feel quite right.

Had it re-tuned by David Griffen. Final numbers were 519 HP and 519 TQ. David was able to diagnose that I had a bad ignition coil. It was misfiring in the upper RPM's. Once that was taken care of, the dialed things in. Very impressed.

Well, not ok of course.

Having rwhp far from promised is always a sign of some sort of problem.

If something mechanical is way off (as your your rwhp numbers suggested) tuning should be stopped right away.

Dang. I have no eforce experience, but have had three different Magnuson TVS2300's. Along with a couple of MP112's and an MP122. They all made more than that, even through a 4L60 and even 4L80 (notorious hp eater) trannies. My current N/A build made 500/454 with a tiny cam. There's got to be something else going on. The power curves look normal....just not as high as one would expect. How much boost are you seeing? I would think 8+ psi....unless you're getting some serious belt slip. 8psi should add 160ish hp to what you'd make n/a. LS3's make 400+ at the wheels with just the addition of LT headers.

I understand the different dyno-different day stuff. There's more at play here than just that.

Yeah, something doesn't seem right... My 2010 with basic bolt ons and a BTR S3 cam is making 503/457 with 80+ ambient.

I don't think he's making anywhere near 8+. My ls3 same blower, same pulley with stock manifolds and exhaust is only making about 6 psi according to my dash logic. I'm getting ready to install headers and xpipe. I will do a before and after log to see what my boost is and the difference with headers. Dave tuned mine to 519 whp and 477 torque. I'm guessing the headers will help my torque a little.

Headers will help your HP and TQ. If you're just seeing 6psi with a TVS 2300 on a stock engine and stock exhaust with 3.5" pulley, you've got something going on too. You might see something like this tooling around at 5000' above sea level. Save that, a restricted intake could cause this? Restrictions upstream of the blower (intake) cause boost and power both to go down. Restrictions downstream of the blower cause boost to go up, IAT's to go up, and power to go down. Making the engine breathe better with cam, and/or headers, and/or ported heads makes boost go down and power go up. I have hundreds of thousands of miles using TVS2300's on four different builds. I'm not making this stuff up. Just trying to help.

I did a log on my way into work this morning. Looks like you're correct and the Dashlogic is off a little. 8.3 @ 6200 rpm. I'll do another log post header before 3.25" pulley. Mine acually made 527 not 519...
