Default Supercharged 440 ls7

Is there anyone out there running low boost on a 441ci? I understand that this maybe a bad idea due to thin walls and heat but my question is, is there anyone out there running this setup with success? I've already ordered the 440 LS7 and have an A&A Ti trim setup from my blown LS3 and I would like to use it in my next setup. In addition, the motor has a supercharger cam, meth to keep it cool and I'm thinking about adding an icebox on days I take it to the track.

If you keep the boost low to moderate, have good fuel, and spot on tune, it should be fine. Is the motor a 4.130 bore and 4.100 stroke? That is the best bet for 440" in my opinion and as it keeps the sleeve as thick as possible.

Oh yea, you forgot to mention one key ingredient, compression?? Since you're talking about adding meth I assume pump gas + meth?

Yes the boar is 4.130, but the stroke is 4.125
and the compression ratio is 10:1

If you have access to E85 I would switch over to that and send it. If not you should still be ok, just need to make sure it doesn't detonate. Set up isn't ideal for boost but you should be able to throw 8-10 psi at it no problem if everything is done correctly. You really only took .0025 off the sleeve in any single location to get to your 4.130 bore so you're not talking a massive change. Let er rip and post the results!

Hey thanks, i was thinking the same thing. I will add a flexfuel module to the car and i already have the meth kit that turns on during hard excelleration. 8 psi is all i was looking for so 10lbs is just gravy. The builder told me it was setup to handle 1500hp but that sounded like a huge strech without sleeves being redone. Im only looking to have 800rwhp that almost over kill for any street strip setup

I would definitely not take it anywhere close to 1500 hp but for what you outline it should be all good. If you go E85 you won't need the meth. Be careful with flex fuel. My tuner had me turn mine off because you're relying on the full fueling for the motor based on one sensor. He saved my motor because shortly after that I had a fuel pump issue which made my ethanol content sensor go crazy and I didn't realize it right away. One issue with that sensor or if it drops the reading for even a second or two during a WOT run, and your motor is toast because it would pull 30% fuel to get back to a pump gas fuel requirement. 8-10 PSI and 800 rwhp I think is a perfect sweet spot for that set up. You shouldn't have any issues with motor reliability or sleeve strength there.

Hey thanks again, and I concur with 1500hp that was just crazy talk the crank and pistons may take it but the cylinders would surly go way before then.
E85 isnt that readily available in my location so flex fuel is the better option and the meth is a secondary fail safe
and as mentioned in the post 800rwhp is my max that is plenty for me.

Yeah i know. He was looking at all the highend parts he put in it. But the engine walls are really the issue with ls7. I simply looked past the foolish statement since i would never push it that hard
