looking at ditching the stock Z06 oil cooler and replacing with a 40 plate Derale with 800 cfm fan. Anyone know what AN size is the stock Z06 fitting on the oil cooler lines going into the cooler ? Derale several options from AN 10 , AN 8 , AN 6 etc. Car has intercooler with ECS blower and just can not seem to stay cool, which in turn jacks up the oil temps and then reduces oil pressure. any thoughts on the Derale model 15870 seems to be the beast I need. AN size of stock Z fittings ? Even in cooler weather with low humidity, Z heats up fast. Also going to wrap/ cover the high flow cats, being right next to the engine oil pan seems like a foolish idea, heat just goes right from the cat to the oil pan.
Keep in mind you want your oil to get up to temp. It helps burn the water and some of the trash out of the oil. That's why there is oil thermostats. A lot of cars don't get driven long enough to get up to temp and the oil gets contaminated. Sometimes you will brown snot stuff on the bottom of your oil cap. E85 also causes more moisture from what I understand and need the oil temps to get up.
