Default Supercharger for track use?

I have a 2012 GS with the LS3 A6 and thinking of doing a few track days this year. First add of course is better brake pads, fluid and rotors. The car is mostly street driven and I would like to add a supercharger. I want one that fits under the stock hood with no modifications, although I am considering the functional hood scoop pictured below. Even with an added oil cooler and transmission cooler I am concerned about overheating with a supercharger. I am no mechanic or engine guru so I'd like to hear some opinions. Thanks.

What does your car have currently as far as powertrain upgrades and cooling upgrades?

Nothing but a K&N intake, adding dyno tune, headers and catless X-pipe soon. Not doing any other engine mods until I improve brakes and oil/trans cooling. Not considering a SC or Turbo any longer. In the future possibly heads and cam, possibly but not definate.

Smart man. Focus on the safety and cooling first, get used to the car and the new power then upgrade if you feel you need more down the road. Adding a supercharger will require a ton of cooling upgrades to allow you to run the car at its full potential.

I've heard the E-force supercharger with an E85 tune makes for a nice track car.

The picture you posted is a ZR1 with its raised carbon fiber hood - it looks like the original clear window has been replaced with a louvered insert. There are other louver options that will fit into your stock hood though.

I'd suggest you enjoy the track days and get familiar with your car first - it will be plenty fast enough to start. Then, better, more track-oriented tires will make more of difference in improving your lap times than adding an S/C.

There are other bolt-on choices also that will increase your power levels (intake manifold, cam etc) without the added front-end weight and mechanical complexity of an S/C.

**** ship!
Been there doing that. So most C6 FI kits seem have heat issues when tracking. IMO. I'm staying NA currently at 467whp. More HP, I will go CID/RPM. At my skill level I have enough. Get some seat time at NA power before you add boost. Most importantly, beat the **** out of/enjoy your car!

Adding a SC to my car ruined the balance overall. If you are into the twisties, stick with a NA setup and do nice HCI combo. The car most likely will be faster overall. Yes, the SC will be a bit faster on the straights but will give up time in the corners. a 600+ WHP NA combo is where its at.

My recommendation is working on getting a top notch system for cooling and oil cooling and stay NA.

Get a stout heads and cam package with good intake and exhaust.
