Default ported/rod mod intake manifold

Hello all!

I've got an A&A kit on order and I'm trying to square away stuff needed for install. Currently the car has a GPI ported and rod-mod LS3 manifold on it and I'd like to keep that manifold if possible. I'm looking to hear of anyone experiences with running this manifold with boost. I should be around 8PSI or so (3.6" pulley). The car is cammed with headers as well.

Ask GPI?

I would think it would be fine for low boost but they might tell you it's good up to a certain psi?

That's actually a solid idea. I'll shoot them an email. I would also think that it can handle mild boost. I do still have my stock LS3 intake, so if all else fails, ill slide that back on

Probably depend on how much porting was done. If I remember correctly, the more radical porting job removes some internal supports. That one may not play so nice with boost. You can always trade someone for a stock one plus cash.

Edit....just read where you still have your stocker. Your ported intake should sell easily if you find you can't use it.

well, if it turns out its no good, ill just swap it out with the stock one. GPI has said the rodmod itself is good for boost, but haven't read about the porting too (I did ask the question, waiting on a response). you are right, the one I have I can probably sell for 400 or so. with how easy it is to swap the manifold I may just save the risk and swap it out to stock anyway.

Well, I got my answer. GPI does NOT recommend any kind of boost for the ported manifold. Looks like I'll be putting my stock manifold back on.

I'd start at way north of $400. Stock LS3 intake manifolds sell for around $250 from what I've seen. I think GPI charges around 400 for the port and rod mod work.
