Default Rear mount radiator

Not to make ANOTHER thread over this topic, it just seems a lot of the threads that I search are filled with concepts and ideas and no actual true tests or tips.

I am currently in the middle of a twin turbo setup on my car and really need more room than I have in the engine bay. My best idea was to move the radiator to the rear but I just wanted to see if and how others are doing this, the car IS street driven (few hours of driving to spots and racing) at a time. I'm not super familiar with any rear mount setups and no one local has anything like that so I just wanted to see if maybe someone here had done it and could share some pictures or tips on how they have it setup.

TT with no exhaust running to rear of car shouldn't be an issue mounting but street driving (highway) could be an issue sure if you can't get enough air pushing through the rad.

I just eliminated tge AC. Seldom does temps warrant the need for ac up here in the northwest. This freed-up enough room to run fairly wide intercooler(s) and a Dewitts rad w brushless fan. Can't say I'd do the same in the southern US however.

Yup, I have already deleted AC, my biggest issue is just the total size of the turbos and where I want them placed. I may cut out my crash bar and lean it WAYY forwards, still wanted to see if anyone tried the rear mount stuff with success and how they did it if so.

Check on Facebook channel : C6/GS/C6Z/ZR1 1/4 mile records

Do a search, they have a lot of good info about rear mount setup.

I did one and it worked pretty good. Hardest part is getting all the air out of the system. A scirocco sized radiator fits perfect in the rear between the frame rails. 16an front and back. I ran a single Davies Craig EWP150 water pump at the rear of the car. In the middle of the run of hoses I ran some 1in aluminum tubing in the center of the car. Idled around 160-170 degrees but crept up around 200-210 on the highway under load. Coasting would drop it back down. Never overheated during pulls. Weight distribution was nice. Something like 48 front, 52 rear.

Running the same style/size radiator front mounted now and works great.

Did you use an inline thermostat or just nothing? The cooling system is definitely not my strong point lol, and a lot of the research online comes up with contradicting answers on everything, although I may just be overthinking the whole thing.

Heres one design for rear radiators.
