Default ProSpeed Fans

Hi folks, looking into purchasing the ProSpeed fan setup for my A&A supercharged GS with full size DeWitt's rad. From my research, seems like fitment is hit or miss? Are they worth the investment? Is cooling significantly improved? Do they require an aftermarket alternator?

Doesn't DeWitts sell a direct fit dual SPAL fan setup for that radiator? I would call them up and inquire.

My DeWitts radiator came with a direct fit dual SPAL fan setup. It connected to the factory fan controller. They are NOT the brushless fans but they are way better than OEM fan setup. DeWitts also sells a brushless fan setup but they are pricey fans.

I had those fans ready to install but the consensus on here was that they were worse than oem. I’m glad they work well for you.
Shop also recommended brushless so I sold those and kept my oem fan. Now revisiting the topic because it’s winter and I’m bored lol.

They are definitely not worse than OEM. The dual 11" SPAL fans pull about 40% more air (2,700 cfm) than OEM and the shroud covers the entire radiator. OEM leaves huge gaps everywhere. OEM is also brushed and pulls only 1,600 cfm

The Pro Speed setup uses a similar dual SPAL 11" fans like the DeWitts uses. They might pull more air but I don't see CFM numbers posted

Just got updated. The Pro Speed fans pull around 3,500 cfm and they are NOT brushless dual SPAL fans - $1,000 for the fans

DeWitts are 2,700 cfm and are also NOT brushless dual SPAL fans - $550 for the fans

So the DeWitts and ProSpeed setups are pretty similar. Both utilize 11" dual brushed SPAL fans. The cfm is slightly different but not sure on how they measure cfm on those fans.

The only BRUSHLESS setup on the market now for the C6 is the DeWitts dual 11" SPAL fans that pull 2,800 cfm but that is $1,400 for the setup...

Thank you for the update. I didn’t know that the Prospeed fans weren’t brushless. That was the only reason I was considering them. Where did you get the information from?

The dual brushless DeWitts setup looks badass! Not cheap though. I’m glad I didn’t order the Prospeed setup. Pricing is the same. Anyone running the dual brushless DeWitts? They used to offer a single brushless setup. I think it was in the $700-800 dollar range. Seems things have changed.

Info was directly from ProSpeed, they emailed me, "The CFM is around 3500 total, they are not brushless, yes sir controlled exactly like the stock fans can be through the ECU."

Brushless are no doubt better quality - offering 50,000+ hours of life, higher efficiency (85–90%), quieter operation, and less maintenance. While more expensive, they provide better performance and reliability. Brushed fans are cheaper initially but have shorter lifespans (5,000–10,000 hours) due to friction and wear.

How many HOURS will you be using your fans on your C6? 5,000-10,000 hours is a lot of driving time.

It comes down to $$$. You can get a dual 11" SPAL brushed setup for $550 or the same setup in brushless and pay $1,400

Dual fans are better than single, as if a fan dies, you still have a second fan that will operate.
