I know back when they originally tested about 6 years ago they used A Bruel & Kjaer Model 2250 Type 1 Sound Level Meter.
I believe it dropped it around 9 dbs. Even though that's an impressive drop, they were more interested in if people noticed the difference and were happy more then any number. So they sent a few freebies out to customers in the beginning. The response then was the same as it is today. Years later with hundreds sold and a ton of positive feedback & posts, (see original 1st post above) it seems to help & does a good job.
Now if you have bad drone and your looking for dead quiet like a caddy, this is not for you.
The blockit was developed as a very quick yet effective answer to reduce interior noise. Great for taking the edge off exhaust. Fantastic for tire and road noise. Without tearing out your interior. The heat reduction was an added bonus.

I just want to say, I ordered the BLOCKIT mat a few days ago. It got delivered last night, the timing was perfect because I made a 300 mile road trip today.
Two things: It takes 90 seconds to install.
And number 2: This thing really works! I didn't tell my wife, she saw the big box last night (she gave up asking long ago) after 2 miles she asked me why does your car sound so quiet. I told her what it was and we were both impressed with how much tire noise is suppressed. The 325's are like steam rollers... not anymore.
I really didn't expect the mat to work this well, I can hear the radio now, and carry on a conversation if I want.
