Default *SOLD* RPM Level V T56 with M12 5th & 6th-Just Refreshed and at RPM!

**SOLD **Just refreshed by RPM Transmission, Custom Level 5 T56 (M6) with Z06 (M12) 5th and 6th gears.

This transmission will work with a 2006/2007 C6 if the mainshaft in the rear is modified to 08+ 30 spline. RPM does this all the time for about $300*

The transmission is currently at RPM and can be shipped from their establishment.

After trying several different types of transmission ratios including the aftermarket, I realized that for my uses the combination of the M6's 1st through 4th gear and the M12's 5th and 6th gear would give me the best driving experience in different scenarios.

C5's respond so easily to mods, especially when going for additional horsepower. The close ratios of the M12 can be a burden when driving on the street and for some people like me, a burden when having fun. Having the wider ratio M6 with the closer ratio M12's 5th and 6th were the best of both worlds. This is from my experience and I'm sure there are others who have different experiences.

Please see below for the factory specs and the specs of this transmission:

C5/M6 (Non Z06)---C5 Z06--------This Transmission
1st: 2.66----------1st: 2.97------1st: 2.66
2nd: 1.78----------2nd: 2.07-----2nd: 1.78
3rd: 1.30----------3rd: 1.43------3rd: 1.30
4th: 1.00----------4th: 1.00------4th: 1.00
5th: 0.74----------5th: 0.84------5th: .084
6th: 0.50----------6th: 0.56------6th: .056

RPM Transmissions charges $2895 with a usable T56 core. Purchasing without a T56 core adds an additional $750 bringing the total to $3645 plus shipping.

I am asking $2600 and you keep your current transmission. That's a savings of OVER $1000!

Thank you for taking the time to read my For Sale thread!

I'm sure you could if you like, however RPM recommends machining the spline in the rear instead. It is cheaper also I believe.

PM sent!

I completely understand.

A local machine shop should be able to perform the task also. When you chat with RPM I'm sure they'll tell you exactly what needs to be done.

Is the 5th & 6th gear of this transmission the same as the ZR1 5th & 6th?

Yes and no. If the Z06 is an 08+ no modifications to the rear would have to be done, however you would be replacing a TR6060 with a T56. Stock for stock a TR6060 is stronger. An RPM Level V T56 vs a stock TR6060 I'm not sure, you'd have to contact RPM.

If your Z06 is an 2006 or 2007 then it would be a direct replacement except the shaft would still have to be machined to fit for the 30 spline T56's 30 spline shaft. As mentioned above RPM does that all the time for a cost of a few hundred dollars.

If your car came with a TR6060 I wouldn't replace it with a T56 though. If it came with a T56, then this is a GREAT upgrade for the price. In my opinion of course.

From a simple google search it seems that the ZR1 5th and 6th gears are different. Not 100% sure on the ratios throughout the years however. A call to RPM Transmissions I'm sure would get you a definitive answer.
