C6 Covette Headlight Lens Replacement - INSTALL & REVIEW - DIY
I made this video to show that an average guy can install these lenses in his kitchen / garage lol. I ordered my lenses from: WWW.UMNITZA.COM , excellent customer service and speedy shipping! Lens were packaged in 3 layers of protectant film and bubble wrap.
Now for the install, give yourself a whole day to do this job. Its very doable but does require a lot of patience. YOU NEED A HEAT GUN. I was stubborn and tried to use a hair drier, doesn't work... And taking it in / out of the oven at 225F eats up a lot of time. Im sure I could have saved hours of work if I would have had my heat gun. With that being said, reinstalling the new lens with Butyl was very easy and makes for a mess free seal. In all, this was the best mod I have ever done to my 2012 C6 Grand Sport! The car literally looks brand new! Highly recommend these lenses!

Personally, my lenses would have to be a lot worse-looking than your originals and beyond any means of on-car restoration before I would do it. Mine looked like crap (crazed, worn, yellowed) just along the curved edge on top. I sanded, polished, and clear-coated just that area, and now am using Wolfgang's UV sealant monthly. Hope I can avoid replacing them for a long time, but it's nice to see it's merely time-consuming and doesn't require a ton of specialist experience or equipment. Thanks for the vid, nicely done!

Thanks for posting the video! I think this is a winter project for me. My original '05 lenses look good from 5 feet away, but when the lights are on, you can really see how bad they are. I have been on the Umnitza website looking at their lenses and like the prices!

Winter Project is an excellent idea! Honestly, it will make your 05 look brand-new
