Default Throwing codes - Need Help...please.

I have the Predator 91 Octane Tune installed and just recently started throwing codes. Detailes are:

P0171 Too Lean Bank1 and P0174 Too Lean Bank 2.

I have the 91 octane performance tune installed and if I clear the code, it comes right back. It is odd that I didn't start throwing the codes like this until 500 miles after the install.

I need advice... should I go back to stock? Should I log the data first and ask for the custom tune? ...or a combination of both?

The supporting dealer isn't very reponsive with my situation so any help I can get from you guys is greatly appreciated.

Those codes mean that your long term fuel trims are more than +25 meaning that the computer is having to add more than 25% more fuel than base. Check for air leaks first to make sure you don't have any leaks around the area of the MAF (between the MAF and the engine). If everything is OK, you might just need to adjust the injector slope negative to zero your LTFT's.

Mike:

Sorry for the delay, I had to take care of the kids. Everything looks pretty tight. I readjusted then tested and I still throw the same codes.

I'm not comfortable making the changes without somone looking over my shoulder. Is it just one setting or are there several I need to make?

Are you looking at the real time data while driving the car? You need to take a look at your long term fuel trims at a constant throttle of say 20%. When you do that, what do you see for your LTFTs and where do you have your injector slope set? To get those codes, your LTFTs in at least one of your block learn cells (RPM and throttle position) has to be 25 to 26 as that's what sets the codes you quoted.

I just logged the data and now I'm trying to figure out what I'm looking at.

LTFT's
22% at idle

19% 3rd gear 50MPH (1st run)

20% 4th gear (2nd run)

Also, I noticed when I try to save the file to my PC, it is a different file extension then what the instructions indicate it should be.

I sent Johan an email and he contacted me right away so maybe he can help. Thank you Johan!

The fact is, I gave my business to a particular vendor based on their support model and I'm not expereincing the support. I wouldn't be so frustrated if the supporting vendor responded to my requests for help.

Most of the cars that had cold air induction system installed are throwing the same code. May be due to the removal of th MAF screen.

My LTFT were too high. Once they were brough back down, the car has been great. Obviously, I'm after performace but I'm experiencing unuasually high gas mileage. This is my daily drive and watch every tank just to see what it is.

FYI

I had removed the screen on mine approx 5K miles ago... no codes. After Predator, I drove a couple of hundred miles before the first code.

I removed my MAF screen over 6 months ago. My car has never thrown a code of any kind nor does it idle rough or have any other issues.
