Default Revxtreme Tuning Services

Revxtreme has updated its software library to now include 06 C6 and Z06 corvettes including those with the 6 speed automatic even though the transmission side of the software isnt realeased yet. You will recieve a free retune when transmission software is available. Some realistic dyno proven gains are 10 - 20 Rwhp. We are also a full service mod shop serving the Tampabay area locally but we serve customers all over the country. If your interested in dynotuning or modding your corvette call Revxtreme at (813) 628-0080. Also check us out in your next issue of Vette magazine for our ETP heads and cam install. There will be many updates on this forum as we are doing more and more C6 Vettes . Thanks to everyone for there support.

Default Just a few questions, I think...

If you don't mind the question, how good have you been in dealing with the A4's in the 2005 Corvettes regarding the tune? I'm thinking of having it done soon but I'd like to know what all you do when someone brings in a car for a "dyno tune". Do you talk to the customer as you're tuning the car, i.e. do you discuss and explain as you do the tune what to set the A/F ration to? Do you discuss the advantages of installing a 160 or 170 thermostat-depending on the mods already done to the car? Do you first discuss everything and decide what the computers should be flashed at before the dyno starts? Is TM discussed at all? Is any of the original programming left in the computer or is it all erased? How much does it cost and how much extra to install the thermostat, and, how much to bring back the car should it need to be reprogrammed say, for the addition of any future mods?
Thanks,

Sal

RevXtreme's dyno is up & ready to tune after the move, we sunk it into the ground to accomidate larger & longer vehicles and are adding all wheel drive capabilities.

Dyno is inside a special built sound-proof & climate controlled structure for better control of air conditions during tuning.

Default Fyi

Guys, I just spent about an hour, maybe an hour and a half with Ryan last week who graciously took the time out of his busy business day to explain, IN DETAIL, all that's involved with and how he will dyno my car. This man knows his sh*!, knew most of the stats and info off the top of his head, and showed my his HP TUNERS PROGRAM RIGHT IN HIS LAPTOP AND all that is involved with the dyno-tune. He is willing to adjust the tune, within reason, to specs that you may want a "little" your way but within the scope of "his" way all within the parameters of the HP TUNERS program. I was really impressed by his knowledge of how each car is different and should be "customized" accordingly, again within the confines of the HP TUNE.
DONE DEAL! And I will report back with the "before" and "after" results of his work.
I want everyone to know that I am about as fussy as any of you, if not MORE about who does what to my car! I usually don't leave my car at a dealership or Corvette shop for any work with the exception of Dimmitt Chevrolet, Auto XTC and now RevExtreme(although this will be done while I wait cause I live about 40 miles away and Ryan has no problem with me waiting there) who all have earned my trust. My car is mostly shown(those of you who know me personally on the CF know I speak the truth) and I know every little mark on the car(only have one lite scrape on the fuse box cover which is painted to match the car). This is the first Corvette, and I've owned 11 altogether that I have ever modified with a Calloway Intake, Melrose headers, Hi-flo cats, and x-pipe. A4 with a 6 spd Chevy (new) 3:42 differential installed, and 8.5 MSD Ignition wire set with socks and soon to be Dyno-Tuned car. I can't wait...

Thanks for the great words Sal, i enjoyed speaking with you the other day. Like i said some tuners just dont want you to see there stuff or explain anything to you and thats because :
A They really dont know exactly what everything does and arent prepared to answer the tough questions.
B They dont want you to see what they are doing. I havent got anything to hide yes there are a few things in there that i wouldnt want people to see because you always have to have a one up on competition, but if you wanna know ill tell.
Bottom line is if the customer isnt comfortable with you then he/she wont leave you their car and the only way to gain trust is through good customer relations. I wish i had enough time in the day to spend as much time with all of them as i did with you. It was best you stoppped by to say hi and get an idea of whats going on there is no way i could have made the same impact on you over the phone. Sometimes you just gotta shake hands.

Thanks for your support

Good deal, Ryan.
This Monday, I bring in my car to Dimmitt to have my new 3:42 diff. installed. Tuesday it should be ready and I'll give you a call NLT Wednesday to make that aptmt.
Also, I wanted to ask you if your shop(you) port and polish the stock intake and polish the throttle body too before the tune? If so, about how much would that be? What's your opinion on those items and about how much extra hp gain might I see?
Thanks, again, Ryan and see you soon.

We offer these services as well, although the gains are small you should still see something, how much ? A few horses here and there. depending on how much porting is done and where. Some porting can actually hurt you if not done properly. Also remember that sometimes you sacrifice lower end for top end. We havent done a back to back tests on those specific components. Maybe we can make that our next project on the dyno.
